Having armed police on a flight, be it 2 of them or 22 of them, will make no difference. Since 9/11, all cockpit doors are bullet proof and cannot be accessed by anyone from the outside, this would have been the only time that armed police would have come in handy, if someone was trying to get into the cockpit, which they can no longer do. This new wave of threats, in the form of liquid explosives, will just mean that someone sat on the plane can detonate a bomb from where they are sat, no armed police on a flight can stop that if it has been carried on board the plane. The only option is for rigourous security checks during check in.

Well, how about instead of not allowing any liquids on the plane, you check them to make sure it's not an explosive agent. I would honestly hope these people know what hair spray smells like. Such a shame that a few horrible extremists can ruin it for EVERYONE else. Now there are a lot of people that think that every Muslim is like that, which couldn't be further from the truth. And a lot of the world think that most Americans are pushy and judgemental, which is just as far from the truth.
But I think this will just bring Bush's ratings back up a little. (Like he had much to do with this anyway).

The problem is we need the Muslim community to seek out the individuals and tell the police. So that will not work. What can we do? Every time something like this happens it causes more bad feelings between the Muslim and the other religious groups in the world. It is a problem caused over many years and still there is no easy solution. Blair and Bush have not helped in their action in Iraq.

there are distinctive triggers for the start of international conflict a million, regardless of if the biggest "spark" that crowned the start of WW1 replaced into the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria on June 28, 1914. Gavrilo Princip of the gang The Black Hand assassinated Ferdinand whilst on a stress-with the aid of march in Bosnia. on the time, Bosnia and Austria have been already particularly stressful, and Ferdinand had a intense probability of assassination with the aid of driving with the aid of Bosnia. together with his loss of life, Austria-Hungary formally declared conflict against Serbia. besides to the assasination of Franz Ferdinand, different contributing components that began the conflict have been the hands race, nationalism, imperialism, militarism and the alliance gadget, all of which occured approximately 2 months after his loss of life.

Its ridiculous. I find it interesting that this happens when the Americans and their allies need to take the spot-light away from Iraq (and soon Iran).
This could soon be topping my conspiracy theory list.
I have been listening to the radio here. Mothers with babies can bring bottles of milk onto the plane, but must 'drink the milk in front of a member of staff'.
I don't fancy living in a world as mad as this one is getting.

i never thought that liquids would be an issue. there should be no less than 5 police on any major flight.
this is a hard question. i dont know where they learn this things , but it seems like that is alll they do is sit around and think of terrorists plots all day long.

I think it's probably a set up, an excuse for further clamping down on civil liberties whilst making people believe it's all in their own best interests.
Notice that the UK government didn't actually kill anyone, look on the bright side eh?

There is also the fact that anyone can locate the ingredients for weapons and bombs on the Internet for free, until things like this are clamped down on and closed, there will always be factions of society that will want to cause harm to others
