Mmmm...Not at present moment it isn't at all airports in the U.K are closed, no incoming, and outbound flights until further notice due to the Terror Alert that has occured today, you are better off going by Ferry if you want to get anywhere today!

Have I missed something??? I know there's a big alert on but I don't think that makes Edinburgh more dangerous than any other airport when coming from Ireland.

It should be very safe. There are no indications whatsover that there would be any problems flying from Ireland to anywhere else. Security might be a small bit higher, but that shouldn't worry you in the slightest. Go for it.

it is the safest form of transport known to man, and with current security concerns it is very very safe at the moment. If you can get a flight that is.
