Over a period of time, they indulge a bit more, stretches the stomach more, so they eat more, and they don't feel full because the stomach has stretched, so they eat more....In other words, they get into a very vicious circle...

Not everyone is overweight because they eat too much. I am overweight. I eat less than a lot of people I know, exercise everyday for 20mins+ and still cannot lose weight. I have a slow metabolism due to a Thyroid condition. Please do not judge people because they are overweight. Some people will be through over indulgence and some will be through an underlying medical condition that they may or may not know about. Just because you are lucky to be thin does not make you a better person!

I've heard that there's a chemical in your brain that is triggered or something when an average person consumes food. Apparently it's got something to do with the 'pleasure' that you get from food where you do not have to eat anymore food because you feel content with what you've already eaten. There are some people who lack this and feel they have to eat more and more to make up for not having as much of that chemical or whatever it is, which is why they become overweight. They don't get that satisfaction from food so they feel they have to eat and eat in order to get it. That doesn't go for all large people.

The more one eats, the more their stomach stretches. That's the main reason, but not the only. And not only overweight people eat so much, I know some that eat far less than me, and I eat quite a lot, more than some men!

I find the fact that you think that all overweight people eat too much quite offencive. Not all overweight people eat too much if you got to know some maybe you wouldn't be so closed minded. I for one have a medical condition which causes obesity and probably eat less than you do.

It's often because they have over eaten for most of their lives and their stomachs have stretched to hold more food.
BUT - and there are some big BUTTS out there!
fat people are not always fat because they eat too much. They may have a slow metabolism or an under active thyroid both of which will cause the weight to pile on. Some people have water retention problems and some people may be on long term medication which have side effects of wight gain.
Other fat people just eat far too much all the god damn time!!!

Not all do. I am overweight, but I eat less than almost anyone I know. My wife says I must have a stomach the size of a satsuma. My weight comes from drinking far too much alcohol, and the fact that I have Metabolic Syndrome which means more of the calories I consume are stored as fat, as my body is not as effective at converting sugars to energy as a normal persons would be.
Don't make assumptions about people. It annoys me that people think it's as simple as "your fat, so you must be a greedy pig."

Because as they get fatter, they eat more. It gradually goes from 2 servings, to 3. Their stomach stretches to accomodate the amount they're eating. They have bigger stomachs than you because they always over eat. If you go on a diet and eat less, you'll notice you can't eat as much as you could before. That's because your stomach has shrunk back to normal size. I agree with you, but it's because they over eat all the time and their stomach is just used to it, so it's a lot bigger than yours.

Yes, their stomachs are definitely stretched. It sickens me to see overweight people eating excessively. The bigger they get the more they eat and often out of boredom.

some ppl have larger intestines than others when you start to eat large amounts early on and keep eating more and more the intestines and stomach stretch making more and more room for food which enables ppl to eat large amounts of food, gain weight and before you know it they become overweight
