As for the kind/brand of food you feed this is my advice. Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. Now for the throwing up part. First of all, see a vet to make sure all is well. My dog will barf after eating if I let him drink water immediatly when he finishes his food. when he burps, the food comes up. I withhold his water for 15-20 minutes and he's fine. Also if you let a dog exercise just before or just after eating they can barf. Never feed a hot tired dog till it has cooled off and rested a bit. As for the car sickness, don't feed the dog for abput an hour before getting in the car. Feed a piece of candid ginger, it settles the stomach...works for humans too. If that doesn't work the vet can give you something for the dogs car sickness.

I'm not sure I understand the question,he gets sick after he eats and when he travels(two different situations) or does he get sick after he first eat and then travel?
In the first case he could have a problem with his gastrointestinal tract(that means he didn't always had this problem he just got it) and you should go to the vet or he might eat his food too quickly and that way he is eating way more than he can handle in one time.If that's the case you should try to get him food which is bigger(that way he has to chew a long time before swallowing) and also you should give it to him in smaller doses more times in a day,for example if you give him his food twice daily try giving the same amount of food in four times a day.You can also try hypoallergenic food, see if that helps.
In the second case(and also the case he just gets sick when he is in the car, even if he hasn't eaten short before) well I don't think you can do anything about it,he just gets carsick. You could try lowering your speed, but if he gets upset in the car he will get upset even if he sits still in it...You can also try not feeding him but I don't think that would make a huge difference either...you just gotta accept it,that's the way he is.

He needs to be checked by a vet. Put him on food for sensitive stomach. Rice and chicken dog food.

Traveling feed a light meal or not at all before going somewhere he is just car sick.

Sounds like he may be a very nervous/anxious dog. If he eats fast and gulps his food down you will have to find a way to slow him down. I put a big rock in my dogs bowl and he had to slowly pick around it for his food.

Get him conditioned to the car rides. Take him out to the car and just sit there. Drive around the block the next day. Gradually make your trips longer.

Other tips:

Avoid feeding or letting him drink lots of water before your drive.
Be sure that he relieves himself before your trip.
Don't leave him alone in the car.... this may only add to his anxiety.
Drive sensibly. Don't stop fast, turn corners sharpely or take off fast.
Be sure your car is properly ventilated.
Don't let your dog jump around or play in the car.

Of course, if it's not anxiety that is making your dogs tummy upset you may have to take him to the vet for a professional opinion.

Good luck and happy motoring!

Wait. Your dog gets sick after he eats. Is this before he travels (reaction to food) or after he travels? (Being car sick?) Need a bit more information to take a guess at it ok?

Try a quick experiment before taking him to the vet, change his food and make sure he eats it slowly. If he's still throwing up, this is a serious stomach problem

maybe he eats his food too quick and maybe u need to get him some car sickness tablets from the vet... dogs tend to gulp there food really quick if other animals are around..
