Hi i am a nurse, and i have a close family relative who has hiv.
firstly he needs to get tested and practice safe sex from now on, if he does have it he will be ad vised as to what to do next. My relative has had it for eleven years now, he has to take tablets but lives a perfectly normal life, he still goes out partying, still holds down a job. With medical advances as they are his life doesn't have to end. Please ignore the silly comments on here, some peolpe have nothing better to do than be cruel

First off the people who answered "do it or go on" better pray god doesn't put them in a possition like that. No one should kill themself if they are possitive. life does go on .Possibly for a long time. There is something called "long term non progressive" and that means you have been infected for many years without any symptoms and no change in your viral load or T-cell count. Because this is a matter of life or death and so many others are being negative I'll tell you I know this because That is my situation. I found out in march 1990.So dont doubt God,he has the last say so. Be strong One Love!!

First of all, if he say's he's going to committ suicide, you can take him to the ER immediately. Secondly, I SERIOUSLY doubt that a nurse purposely infected him with HIV, I believe alot of people don't like statements such as those. You could have left that part out of the statement......

so ya tell him to go get a test. as for thinking he has it and the purposefully infecting that sounds more like a mental health issue. ya may want to point out that a lot of times one's hiv status is not in the chart, either because they don't tell people or because it's viewed as sensitive information, so there's really no logical way to know who has it (unless they are on meds for it and we recognize them) to even be able to promote the spread...which we sure wouldn't do as not only does that put our own health at risk but causes a myriad of other problems. basically, get him tested and have him go see a therapist....your friend seems to be losing it...

He needs to be tested first to find out if he really does have HIV. I sincerely doubt that a nurse at a hospital would intentionally stick him with anything, but you never know...

Many cities have free HIV testing sites. Check out your local phone pages. Urge him or her to get tested and see a doctor. Great strides have been made in Aids treatment.

your friend needs to go to the doctor, they can have him tested. for everything.
if he is thinking of suicide, he can try counseling. it may help.
i highly doubt that the nurse at the hosp purposly gave it to him.
that is against ethical standards that the medical field has.
all needles and syringes are sterile and in their own wrapping until the medical professional takes them out of that wrapping.
i handle needles, meds, syringes on a daily basis.
the companies that these items come from are on strict standards that they absolutely have to abide by.
i wish you and your friend luck!

tell him to take an hiv test and they will get the results back to him quickly , especially if he tells them its urgent. also if he had protected sex with anyone , infected or not , he will most likely not have the virus , if it was a good latex condom anyways..
