Originally, brown bread was wholewheat, which contains few additives and lots of healthy parts of the wheat grain, whereas white bread had some (nutritionally valuable) parts of the wheat grain removed, and had chemical additives to make it white. This led to the belief that brown bread was healthier than white bread.
Pasta, being made also from wheat, is of course the same. However, the view that white is bad and brown is better is simplistic, and in some cases wrong. For example, there is nothing nutritionally valuable in brown sugar compared to white sugar.
Rice is a good one - contrary to popular belief, white rice is actually naturally that colour, and is no more or less healthy than brown rice, which is also naturally that colour - they are simply different varieties, the same way you get green apples and red apples.
Also, some brown bread is actually made from white flour, and then has colouring added to make it brown!
If you want to know what's healthy, look at the ingredients, not the colour.

The answer to the question is how did the food become white. If it was bleached like white flour, if it was obtained by throwing away all the outer coatings that contain the vitamins like rice and other grains,if the molasses was taken out like sugar. White vegetables are good, potatoes, parsnips, white radishes, white turnips, pears, apples, white grape juice and white cranberry juice. The darker the colors in fruits and vegetables the more vitamins and minerals. Whole grains are much healthier. Always question what they are taking out of your food.White meat from chicken and turkey is better for you.Milk is better for you without chocolate.(Chocolate binds the calcium)

The three things you mention all have one thing in common, they are over-refined.
Most minerals, vitamins and fiber are in the husks of the rice and of the wheat that is baked into bread and these are removed by refining the grains.
In the case of sugar the vitamins and minerals are also removed in the refinery and the sugar turns from brown to white.

brown food is healthier then white food for many different reasons..Brown foods are in most cases natural with no additives..White foods are usually bleached(flour)and they have a lot of additives so they can keep the white color...They say white foods are usually starches which break down into sugar..eating a baked potato is like eating a cup of sugar...Hope this was helpful..

Because it is not refined or processed. White white bread even though they use wheat flour it is bleached and ground so fine that pretty much the whole wheat effect and nutrtion is out and then they have to re-add all that stuff.

They are less processed; With rice and wheat, the outer shell of the grain is removed to make it white, this part contains lots of fibre, vitamins and minerals which are not found in the white varieties.

many situations white rice is enriched yet rice is milled and has had its husk, bran & germ bumped off. This alters the style, texture and visual attraction of the rice and facilitates forestall spoilage and strengthen its storage existence. After milling, the rice is polished, ensuing in a seed with a outstanding, white, vivid visual attraction. The sprucing procedure receives rid of major nutrition. A weight-help plan in accordance with unenriched white rice leaves human beings susceptible to the neurological sickness beriberi, with the aid of a deficiency of thiamine (diet B1).

brown bread and pasta have not been bleached , plus they take longer to pass through the body so tend to fill you up for longer ... so they releast the sugar/energy much more slowly so help in losing weight and are very good for diabetics
