as far as whisky goes its not that brilliant, the one saving grace is that it is made in scotland, not in the far east, it is a single malt matured for flavour, which is derived from the casks in which it stored. the peat based flavour comes from the scottish water from which it is made. isle of islay, jura, have a smoother flavour and mature taste perfectly acceptable on my palate.

It's a pretty well rounded scotch. Nice and smoky peat flavor but not to harsh.
