No, it has a very mild chocolate taste. It's a pretty unique flavor, but has nothing to do with the color of the cake. It's usually served with a cream cheese frosting, which adds to the unique flavor. I LOVE it, you should try it sometime.

It is very good ...the taste is kinda like chocolate with nuts and red food coloring to make it red and a cream cheese frosting............one of the best cakes around!!!!

It is a great cake, if you bake it from scratch it cost an arm and a leg. eggs, two bottles of red dye, butter milk, sugar the icing . But woth it.
