Are you an emotional eater (eat when happy, sad, fine)?
I was under a ton of stress this year and did this. Find what your cause is. I now go for walks by myself and think of all the stuff that's driving me nuts, sounding off in my head. By the time I'm done I feel much better mentally, physically and if I decide to gorge I just worked off all those extra calories. Usually though I'm not Hungary.

If you can't stop eating, here are a few tips you can try to help so that it's not a totally disaster:

1. If you can't reduce the quantity, at least eat better quality. Eat whole wheat bread or pasta instead of white. Cut out soda, cut back junk food. Experiment with a different kinds of healthy snacks until you find something you like. Peanut butter on celery, yogurt & frozen mixed berries, hummus on crackers (yum), hummus with lettuce and carrots and a BIT of cheese on fat free pita wraps, spinach and lemon juice on pita bread, etc. There are a lot of yummy things out there that are healthy. Try an get addicted to some of them. Replacing a few of your meals with a healthy meal is a good start.

2. Eat smaller meals more frequently instead of eating 3 big meals a day. Try and eat a 200 calorie meal every 2-3 hours (just make sure you don't overdo your calories).

3. EXERCISE. If you can't cut fat through diet, then the only other way it to burn it through exercise. Exercise for 30 mins a day, 5-7 times a week. Start jogging everyday to start. Then do intervals of running and jogging. Always push yourself.

Losing weight is not easy, you will have to work if you want a good body. If you are SERIOUSLY overeating (like by 1000 calories a day), don't expect to see a weight loss. You needa try and CUT 500 calories a day outta your diet to lose weight.

You need to count calories and log what you eat in a daily journal. Depending on how much you want to lose will determine how many calories you want to consume each day. 1500 calories is a good start usually, you may want to make it 2000 if you're a male. Watch your fats. Here are a couple of "cheats" that got me through dieting.
Take 1/2 cup of fresh fruit, 1/2 cup of milk, 1-2 tsp. honey or 2 pks. artificial sweetener(this may keep weight on, so you may opt for the honey)and put in a blender and blend until smooth. The air in this combination makes you feel very full. If you don't want to use the milk, you can leave it out for even less calories.
Air popped popcorn is low on calories but full of fiber, which is very important to your health. You can substitute for microwave popcorn. You can also make a yogurt parfait, which is a container of your favorite yogurt, 1/2 c. fresh fruit, and Special K cereal. If you can, I would invest in the XL Glider. You can order it from QVC.com. I lost over 30 lbs. and kept it off. If you eat out, opt for more things that are broiled over fried and order a big salad without all the "extras". The extras(olives, croutons, etc.)are what put the fat on. Get dressing on the size and dip your fork in it, not the food. You will get the taste without too much of the calories and fat. If you eat fast food, get the kid's meals. The super sizes will do you no good. If you feel you need "junk food" drink a big glass of water first and then wait about 20 mins. If the craving goes away, your body craved water not junk. Otherwise, you can have a taste of what you crave and put the rest away. Oh, and don't forget the 6-8 glasses of water a day. Good luck and good health!

Some people say "drink a lot of water, you'll be less hungry."
Honestly you drink a lot of water, you'll be less thirsty.

Eat diet foods, eat a lot of vegetables, & exercise.
Walking a little bit a day will help. It's a small step.

Not sure if you're a woman or not, but I found that some women can't lose weight because their weight gets shifted to their butt & thighs. They'll lose inches off their stomach, just not weight.

So, are you trying to lose weight or lose inches off your stomach?

Do NOT use that pills in the stores that claims all this weight loss crap. They're just placebos mostly. Anyway, they say you have to do normal exercise anyway. The normal exercise will do enough; you don't need a pill unless you need a placebo.
If you think you need a placebo, get the cheapest ones at least.
Anyways, those pills haven't got their FDA approval, yet. When their approval results come in, you won't see that pill anymore.

weight loss tips

Today there is too much information available on losing weight that has become more confusing and sometimes difficult to follow. It’s actually very easy to lose weight if you follow my weight loss tips.

* Be in right frame of mind
Before you can start any diet program you need to be in the right frame of mind. If you do not feel good about yourself you probably will not want to choose healthy foods. You cannot expect the act of going on a diet to make you feel better about yourself. The only way you can choose to eat a healthy diet to lose weight is if you have a positive self-image.

* Eat whole food
Top weight loss tips
Eat whole foods that are as natural as possible. When you eat whole foods that are full of nutrients your body will know how much to eat and how much not to eat. You do not have to count calories because your body is a wonderful machine.

* Eat fresh fruit
Eat at least two servings of fresh fruit every day. Choose whatever type of fruit is in season.

* Drink enough water
Drink the best weight loss supplement known to man, water. Most people do not know the difference from being hungry for food or thirsty for water. A great deal of times people eat when they should drink. Most likely you will not feel as hungry if you are getting enough water. You will be satisfying the thirst, which is confused for hunger. Water also helps you digest food better. Drinking water before you eat will help fill you up.

* Always chew your food
Always chew your food well. Chewing your food well will ensure that you get the most nutrients out of your food. Getting the most nutrients will satisfy your body therefore you will eat less. Another benefit of chewing well is that it helps aid in digestion.

* Take small meals
Eat small, frequent meals in a day. Large meals tax your digestion system, making it work harder. Taking too much time in between meals makes you hungrier for the next meal.

* Include protein at meal
Include good sources of protein at meal, chicken, fish, legumes, peanut, cottage cheese, eggs or yogurt.

* Shut off TV while eating
Shut off the TV whenever you eat – that includes meals and snacks. Studies show that we automatically eat larger portions when we snack in front of the tube, and typically those foods are high in fat and sugar, which means excess calories!

* Increase your physical activity
Increase your physical activity. Most people are over weight because of a lack of physical activity. Start walking more, bicycling, walks your dog for longer periods of time, swim, dance and leave the car at home when you can. It’s important that you choose a physical activity that you enjoy because you’ll stick with it.

Eat enough to sustain yourself at each meal. Make sure you get enough vitamins and protein from the meal (i.e. Breakfast: bowl of oatmeal, one egg, a glass of juice, Lunch: salad with chicken, one apple, iced tea, Dinner: pasta with meat sauce, vegetable sticks, fruit salad. Avoid eating inbetween meals by chewing sugarless gum, or finding some other thing to keep your hands and mind occupied (i.e. cross-stitch work, yo-yo, hand-grips). Hope this helps!

It's simple - walk whenever you feel the need to get fast food. You figure, if you're on foot whenever you have a McDonalds urge, at least you'll get some exercise on the way. (Heck, you'll also save on some gas as well by not using the car.)
