Hi,

Definition of Sensation:
In MEDICINE and PHYSIOLOGY, sensation refers to the registration of an INCOMING (afferent) nerve impulse in that part of the brain called the SENSORIUM, which is capable of such perception.

The medical terms are often determined according to the location where the burning sensation presents, like…….

CHILBLAIN - Swelling with itching and BURNING SENSATION OF THE EXTREMITIES caused by exposure to cold

ERYSIPELAS - A contagious SKIN disease. Synonyms: Rose, Saint Anthony's Fire (from its burning heat or, perhaps, because Saint Anthony was supposed to cure it miraculously).

WATER BRASH - Pyrosis; heartburn; a burning sensation in the esophagus and stomach, with sour belching of a thin, watery fluid.

ST. ANTHONY'S FIRE - Very Contagious; resulted from lack of personal hygiene. Symptoms included redness, swelling, and burning of the skin. Pus forms after the inflammation. There is pain in joints accompanied by fever, chills, headache, and loss of appetite.

And also remember, burning sensation is even present in FIBROMYALGIA…

IN FIBROMYALGIA, patients suffer from acute and stabbing pain in muscle joints. The tendons, soft fibres, ligaments and cartilages are massively affected by FIBROMYALGIA. Patients feel hour longed stiffed joints in the morning. PATIENTS OFTEN EXPERIENCE CRAMPS AND BURNING SENSATION IN BODY.

Depending upon the location of burning sensation, you need to consult a physician…. Just like….

If you have burning sensations in your stomach (maybe due to acidity), you need to consult a GASTROENTEROLOGIST. For skin………… consult a DERMATOLOGIST, and for for nerves related you need to go to a NEUROLOGIST.

Hope this has help you in someway, plz do visit the below mentioned URLs for more information regarding this….

Cheers ……………

Go to your local Doctor, who will refer you to a gastroenterologist
Who may or may not look into your problem and may or may not cure you without surgery.
