Like I keep saying to everyone else: because people don't want to believe in God because if they do they also have to believe in his commandments, which made us all sinners, and they don't want to be labeled as a "sinner" and feel guilt. So, get rid of God and his Word and his commandments: get rid of guilt and repentance and morality, ethics, values, etc.

Depending on what you believe, there you will find your answer. We have let this political correctness, this fear of offending to get way out of hand. How about a neighbor taking you to court because the type of meat being barbecued was offensive to him. The fact that this could go before the courts at all shows where we are at as countries and nations (I am Canadian) We had a Sept 11 memorial the first anniversary. The Christian Ministers and Priests were told they can say God but not Jesus during the prayers! I won't say more, it will just get me all upset again. Regardless of your beliefs this should concern us all. I mean what or whom, will be next?

Ok so I am saying more sorry,

These people that say do your research have not completed theirs. One of the reasons the Puritans came here was for religious freedom that DID NOT exist back home for them. When my oldest started school (she is 29 now) they still read scripture at opening exercises at the Public School, with in four years that was practically illegal. When I was a child there were Catholic and Protestant and Hebrew schools, all that changed with the new immigrants. I am happy they are here, but they came to this country and must fit into it, melt become one with. Not change to fit them, that is just bad manners. It would be the same for anyone going to live in another country. I am sure it was the freedom we had that impressed them to come in the first place. France is a lesson in where we may be going if someone dosen't get smart really soon.

Considering our country was based on Christian principles, and at least 83 percent of our people have some form of Christian principle
in which they believe; I don't know how a minority of the people are managing to have such an influence on our government, unless more of those people who are trying to do this are people from the government.
Otherwise, how do you think they are getting away with this?
Democrats are becoming more and more leftist in their beliefs then any time in our country's history. We are becoming more
and more of a Socialist country, and getting away from the
beliefs that started this country in the first place. Even Russia realized that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and the Socialist Party came to an end without a proverbial shot being fired.
It's because this country's lack of Christian principles, that our children are becoming more, and more undisciplined, because too much is being left up to our government to decide, how we should discipline our children, which means that parents are becoming more and more scared of what they are alowed to do, not do, because they are scared of being labelled abuse, that we have children, that if I were a young parent, I wouldn't dare take in the public, because children are being alowed to rule the roust, with no limits placed upon them.
I don't believe in abusive behavior, anymore then any sane parent, but there is a limit. A good spanking on the butt, and I'm not talking beating them there, never hurt a child, and got the message accross, better then trying to reason with them, especially when they weren't in a mood to be reasoned with in the first place.
So I'm all for bring back the Christians ethics back into our governmet as quickly as possible, along with the Ten Commandments, and a Government under God.

It's not a matter of removing the signs of Christianity, but of opening up public places to other faiths as well. We ALL seek religious freedom, not just Christians.

Because if they can remove all the references to God, they think they can hide from Him. They think it will somehow excuse them of their sins.
We used to be a Christian nation, now we are a pagan nation. It is the sign of the times.
2 Pet 3:
3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Don't worry, thier nonsense is a good sign. It is prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. All this means is that Jesus is coming soon.

Why do Christians seek to impose their religion and religious viewpoints and morals on non-Christians while claiming to have founded this country on religious freedom? I didn't read in the Bill of Rights that only Christians have the right to practice their religion as they see fit. I didn't read anywhere that non-Christians must simply conform to to the Christian viewpoint, and have the Christian religion shoved in their faces at every turn. Please. Point it out.

Most non-Christians are not interested in trashing Christianity or removing it from our culture. But we ARE interested in ensuring that OUR freedoms to practice OUR religions - or lack thereof - are supported. Christians make up the majority of America - but they are not the only religious body in our borders. Christians, as the majority, however, are not the ones being discriminated against. Non-Christians simply want to have the right to live in a country where the government, and places of government funding (schools, federal buildings, courthouses) are not forcing their religion upon us by posting up religious icons, symbols, or words. Is that too much to ask?

No one is demanding that you leave or discard your religion (and if they are, they're not in the majority). We just demand that you recognize that you're not the only ones here, and that we have as much right as you to practice our religion without interferance. Do you really NEED to have public prayer time? No. In fact, Jesus in the Bible insists that you pray quietly, out of public sight. Do you really NEED to have the Ten Commandments pasted on our courtroom walls? No. Especially in a country where 'religious freedom' is prized.

We, the non-Christians, have no problems with your religion. We respect your right to practice it as you see fit. You have your temples and churches, and we have ours. You can buy Christian books, Christian magazines, Christian clothing, Christian movies, Christian anything. We're not saying you can't. Your holidays are the ones that are written and dated in red ink on our calendars. We're fine with that. You're the majority. You have your right to practice your religion.

But you don't have the right to force the rest of us to practice it, too.

We respect yours - please respect ours, too.

[Frankly, most Christians I meet have no desire to force their religion on others. It seems to be the vocal minority, as usual, that gives Christians a bad rap.]

They do? I don't even know that news or actions. Maybe, they are afraid if America are dragging religion also to be responsibled of America's misdeed to the World. This was based on an assumption that America has a misdeed to the World. The problem is "Is there any misdeed that was done by America?". Maybe, non-Christians want to save Christianity from a burden of America's misdeed. Maybe non-Christians want to remove Christianity's influence. Maybe non-Christians want to influenced America, change America to be a new form. Maybe, America was commanded by Illuminati. And Illuminati want to clean up this world without religions, expecially in America, their base camp.

You're right. Let's get back to our roots-- what our country was founded on. First we'll reinstate slavery. Then we'll take the vote away from women. Then we'll take everybody's land and consolidate it back to enormous farms and ranches in the hands of an aristocracy, and the rest of us can work as sharecroppers. Is that what you had in mind?

BTW, the revolutionaries had religious freedom. They were seeking an end to taxation without representation.

I don't think it's necessary to remove signs of christianity from America, I just want the bible to stay out of the law.
Most of the founding fathers were deists and unitarians, not christians. Do your research.

By the way, "pilgrims" is a fancy name for people who were exiled from England, most of them were criminals. Like Australia when it was first discovered

Freedom of Religion was created for all americans not just christian ones....that means its not fair if a sign with the ten commandments is eradicted on a public educational building bc of all the jewish, muslim, hindu, buddhist, atheist, and i dont know maybe like 10 thousand other religions besides Christianity that is characterized by CITIZENS of this country... i dont know who told you america was christian but clearly they were wrong....think about it is all of america Anglo-Saxon...no its full of every ethnic and geographical region of the world bc newsflash America is young! i love America but only if it is free to celebrate all of its ethnicities and religions that encompass it....and America was created for "Taxation without Representation" not just religious pluralism....didnt you take a course of American History in junior year of high school?

ps...try reading Jose Marti's Nuestra America it gives an interesting perspective on the concept of America and that meaning not just the USA..

Expression of a different faith around people who lack that faith places them in a "Minority". Most people do not like to feel like they are in a minority because America is a democracy and the majority rules in a democracy. That fear is always unfounded because the Constitution protects the rights of minorities as it is currently written with all of it's amendments. However, by removing the signs of Christianity, they hope to remove the reminder of the difference that places them in the "minority status".
