Depends on what the letter/per cent equivilents at your school are. If they are using the 90-100 A schale, than 3.3 was correct. However, there are other scales. One I taught with was 95-100, A, 88-94 B, 78-87 C, 70-77 D. So that makes 87% a B- instead of almost a B +, so the equivilent GPA would be closer to 3.0.
It's easier to do with straight letter grades and figure from there. Give each A a 4, B a 3 etc., add up and divide.

Hi! I would say 3.75 (B+), as 80 is 3.0 (B), 82.5 is 3.25 (B), 85 is 3.5 (B+), 87 is 3.75 (B+) and 90 (A) is 4.0 based upon my journey of four degrees - two Bachelors and two Masters. I am currenty pursuing my PhD.
