I totally and completely agree with you. People always tend to assume anything about everyone! Why can't people look deeper and find the truth from the very source?
Like, why would I ask a Catholic about Muslim? Or why would I aska Jehovah's Witness about Mormon's? Or why would I ask an athiest about God? Come on, now, commen sense people!
Stop believing everything you HEAR and go to the direct source for the true info for once!! (it might make you a bit smarter instead of a sheep that follows the crowd)

Clearly some Muslims *are* terrorists, and do indeed commit their atrocities in the name of Islam. Your religion cannot disown these people. Polls show that a substantial proportion of Muslims regard terrorist acts by other Muslims as justified. Equally, I'm quite sure that the majority of Muslims are as much appalled by terrorist atrocities as anyone else.
It's really insulting our intelligence to say that women are not oppressed in Islam. Being forced to cover themselves from head to foot for fear of being punished by whipping or worse, that is not oppression? I would count it as such.
Also there seems to be a universal agreement amongst Muslims that homosexuals are to be condemned and, where the country they live in allows it, brutally executed. I cannot respect any belief system which advocates such hatred for a morally neutral variation in human nature.

I would say that being forced to kneel on a field and wait for some man to chop of your head for some perceived sin is definitely an oppression of women. You did see that event on television in the documentary that the lady made about women's oppression under the Muslim religion?

In every single group of people there are extremists. Some muslims are terrorists, some are not. Some Christians are fanatical clinic-bombing rednecks, some are not. Most people in America believe in peace and love and living together in harmony, and celebrating our differences. Let's not let the fanatics of any religion represent who we are and what we believe. But rather, let the majority of us who go to work everyday and worry about our families and our health and our neighborhoods and our everyday lives remember that those are the extremes. Just because I describe myself as Christian does not mean I agree with those who use the Bible's teachings as an excuse for hating homosexuals or unwed mothers. And just because some people who wanted to blow some stuff up called themselves Muslims, it does not mean all Muslims believe the same. Let's remember that to God, we are all his children and he has no favorites. How would you feel if your own children wouldn't stop fighting with each other??
Oh, and by the way....nobody reads those super-long posts anyway.

My respect to the author. You are so right! I wish all people would understand what you are trying to tell.
Real muslims take "jihad" as the fight with their own sins and unperfection, as the term of self-development.
P.S. I am not a muslim myself, but i read Quran and have many muslim friends.
