Depends on the college and the degree plan for that college. Usually it is the pathway to getting any BA (Bachelor of Arts) degree.. You don't have to take a lot of math and not a lot of science. I realized i wasn't specific.. It is usually about 60-70 credit hours. Each class usually counts as 3 credit hours.. You begin with the basics, English Comp, Literature classes, History, Government, Speech, Humanities, Usually a Foreign Language.. Then after you take those classes, or during, you take classes that are specific towards the degree you want. Usually the difference between the arts and science degrees is , in Arts you take more humanity type classes and a foreign language, in the science degree, it is more math and science. But if you are talking about getting an associates degree in Art. You will take all the same basics with painting/sculpting/etc. classes along with them. And if you go summers it usually takes about two years.

It's basically a 2-year degree (that's how long it typically takes students, but it's not a time limit) that has you take classes in lots of different areas...gym, math, writing, English, etc.

Usually, there are lists in each area of classes from which you pick - it's a nice way to figure out what you want to 'major in' - and in some states once you get one, it MIGHT transfer to a 4-year college and cover your general education credits so you can concentrate on your major.

It DOES depend on the school, so I suggest you contact them and ask how their program works.

Good luck.

It is a two year program usually offered at a community college. Contact the local community college in your area, and they will send you all the information you need.

Good luck!!
