A Spirit.
Can a spirit talk? Communicate? Think?
Yes? No?
A spirit can create great power.
A Spirit can manipulate human minds.
Once the mind is manipulated you can use this human to do things for you.
They do them because the spirit makes them believe that it is the right thing to do.
A few manipulated minds can create another few.
A few Hundred, than a few thousand and than a few million!
Now you have the base to create a great army.
An army which will fight for things they believe in and fight others who do not believe the way they believe.
You conquer and build an Empire.
Once you reach that level you can control that Power under the cover of a spirit.
Keep the spirit in the human mind and the empire stays.
Let other break that spirit and the empire falls.
So the spirit only exist in the Human mind.

In the beginning was the word, my friend, and the word was God. Spirit comes from Latin and means breath, and as the Shaolin Temple master said - ''A long, long time ago many monks assembled and discussed what was most important for life and they decided it was the breath.'' You will find this concept in many religions, especially in the practise of Yoga, which is a part of the Hindu religion, as practised by The Buddha. It is known that all things breathe and have life, all things, including stones, and the universe, and all animate and inanimate things therein, but where and what this breath is, well, therein lies the mystery that only God knows.

Man is a three part being, body soul and spirit. The body came from the dust of the ground, the spirit came from the breath of God and the soul is a touching of the two. "Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" The breath of God is eternal and so is the spirit of man. The body will rot away and the soul in the believer in Christ will dissipate but in the non believer will exist for eternity separated from God.

I think the spirit that we all have is a high level of life force energy, transmuted from our lower aspects and reserves of energy and fed by our breath which in turn brings in the nourishment of the spirit, prana or chi which is everywhere.

The very same old question of "who made God" asked in a different form. To ask a good question needs a better brain.

GOD has not explained to mankind all that he made. He has given only things on earth for man which is enough for man to live a godly life. You know he has said that we are made a little lower than angels. So we have to accept we have our own limits before GOD. Why think about spirits when you have GOD who is loving & caring.

Heavenly Father created our spirits, and his spirit, better known as the Holy Ghost, comes from him. I'm guessing he created that too. Good question.

The question has no meaning. What Spirit? How is it defined? What evidence is there that it exists?
