either way...if your eyes are continuing to do that you should check your bathroom and make up hygiene.
wash your towels everyday till it clear up.
get rid of all the eyeliners,mascaras, and other make up that you are using frequently. it can be that some infectious bacteria decided to make your towels/ make up its home

These stringy eye bogies that you talk about, aka "sleep" is made of dried mucus so in a way they are bogies. During the day, your body excretes mucus in order to protect from pollutants, dust etc. It comes out of your eyes through tears and during the night, dries to form the substance you are talking about.

Your eyes continue moisturising even though you are asleep, because you are not blinking the moisture accumilates then dries which forms the eye bogies. Toxins are removed from you eyes at the same time which can cause variations to the bogie

sounds like it may just be conjunctivitus (not sure of the spelling!!) use cooled boiled water on a cotton ball to wipe away use seperate cotton balls for each eye and repeat when needed if it dont go away see your dr

Sounds delightful!

Probably just you eyes cleaning themselves of junk. Could be syptomatic of hayfever or conjunctivitis. If they itch terribly see your local pharmasist for advice or call NHS direct.

LOL, I think it has something to do with dust mixing with the tears that leak from your tear ducts.

if you block your nose and mouth and push really hard, sometimes you can make a high pitched whistleing noise from your eyes too
