Absolutely!Buts since there isn't a God or Hell then we really shouldn't hold our breath that he would try to earn our trust.

I don't believe in hell, but God has all the right to demand all he wants, and I will try to follow, but I am human! Thank you God for giving us your son. You are the only arrogant person I see. But hey you know what? God still loves you and I do too!!!!

And isn't arrogant of you to decide what God should or shouldn't do? When you can create the entire universe, timeline, and can know every single possible decision that will ever be made, and still go through with your plans of creation, then you can make up the rules. But seeing as how we are the created, and not the creator, we cannot say to the potter why did you make me this way. Romans 9:20. Besides, He has given us every opportunity to be with Him and avoid hell. If you don't have the guts to pick up your cross and abandon your self-desiring pleasures then you have already chosen your destination for your soul. God only condemns people to Hell because they choose to go to Hell. People choose to live for themselves and to fulfill their flesh and their own sinful desires before pleasing God. Then when things don't go their way they blame it on God because He's supposed to be in control. What does God ask of us that is so difficult? To be holy, seperated from the ways of the world. To follow Him and to seek after His heart and holiness. To study diligently in His word and keep it in our hearts and minds. But we must give up all of our earthly delights, and who wants to do that? God doesn't demand anything. He asks of you. He expects you to make a choice, and He will give you every opportunity He can to bring you to Him. If you keep blowing Him off, and see Him as a vicious tyrant, then i fear for your soul. Hell is only a word, the reality is beyond anything you can ever imagine.

No this is not the way the world works. If people will loose their faith in God then I'm sure that the crime rates would incease a million fold. Many people just dont do bad works 'cause they know that there is someone who is watching them & who would surely punish them for doing the wrong deeds.
So I think that this fear should remain in the minds of people just 4 their sake.

I'm glad you're pondering something spiritual -- like the finality death will bring us to a real Living God / Creator and either you will cower in shame or you will be grateful for His loving arms which he longs to embrace you with. Well, apparently you believe that God is unreasonable to begin with since you pose such a thought. Basically, J. B. Phillips addressed this and other misconceptions of God in his book, "Your God is Too Small" (Phillips also wrote a paraphrase of the New Testament)
Hey get the GOOD NEWS:
God loves you VERY MUCH and longs for you -- "For God SO LOVED the world that He gave His ONLY son that whoever believes on Him will not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Jesus said "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, I wanted to take you like a hen with her chiciks." He really CARES for YOU!
What are those Rules and Ten Commands about??
They were made for our benefit. Jesus said this too. The rules also show us that we can't do it on our own. We need to turn to God. Only God is Perfect. We will never please God by our own merits.
Jesus was the ONLY human being who was perfect -- kept all the commands and is perfect for our sacrifice being God in the flesh. He had to be BOTH God and Man to serve the function of an adequate sacrifice in God's sight for us.
God accounts Faith as Righteousness.
This faith will lead you to Christ, the goal of our faith is Someone who is valiant and extremely caring. Jesus fits this criteria perfectly.
Faith will result in good works which show our faith in Christ Jesus. Jesus said, "Don't put your light under a bucket, but set it upon a hill top so all may see your good works and glorify God in heaven."
So -- What is necessary to receive eternal life? Is this your question?? Do you really care to know or are you just spouting at the mouth?? BE SINCERE. SEARCH as for a great treasure. "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added to you."
Matthew 6
BELIEVE on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and you will be SAVED!

I noticed that there are much, much more people on yahoo answers who are desperately trying to deny existence of God than those who actually try to defend their religious stand. Here’s my opinion:
People simply love to worship things instead of being free like the birds.
Something changed in the year of 175 because since that year they stopped killing Christians. Priests at that time hid some facts from people in order to please authorities hungry for ruling and to put themselves in better material position. Jesus said that only those whose heart is not hardened in sin can understand, meaning only those who don’t look at the world via material prism can understand this faith. De Vinci’s Code is work of a pure atheist who is thinking purely materialistically but who gave some correct points about the Church. Real Christians are not wearing long shiny dresses and golden Crosses. They live among us as modest, common citizens; those that you meet once in life but you memorize them immediately because something about them is so pleasant and kind. They are those that are happily whistling in a large queue at the supermarket or patiently wait for you to move your car without pointing the finger because they have peace and they are free of all obsessions and they enjoy in every minute without any fears because they discovered God. 10 commandments are for our sake, not for the sake of somebody who felt powerful when bringing them. If someone doesn’t understand this faith, he should look in his heart and see if he is actually a good person. It is not possible to buy the stairways to heaven or to cash out for your sins. Tell me if it’s easy to refuse a well paid job over a small time business that gives you opportunity to watch your children grow and have enough money only for basic standards. Many of our fathers did. That is why I’m happy and don’t need drugs. If some one is not strong enough to take the path of Christianity he should think again when he wants to judge others who are.
Hell as you know it was made up by Catolic Chruch. The real hell is to live without faith and be scared of death every day of your life

Your name suits you. God made us because he loves us. Each and everyone of us. The rules you speak of that will result in hell if you disobey, are sins against our fellow man and honoring him as our father. They are rules we make for our own children. He already earned our trust when he sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins to save our souls. Where you been?
