Is it just me or does anyone else find it annoying when someone is ordering in a restuarant and they say Can I? as if they have to ask permission to get food that you are paying for?
Just a simple, polite, "I'll have ....." should work.

I also say, "I'l have...". The best tip on dining out is to always smile at the waiter/tress. That sort of guarantee's that they wont put any unwanted "extras" in your food! Trust me...I know what I'm talking about!

Rember the waiter/waitress has your food and could interfere with it if you are not polite to them.

Just be polite, the waiter/waitress will remember that.
