Its not actually the masturbation that is the sin, its what your thinking of while masturbating, and because it is sin to lust after in your heart thats where the sin comes into masturbation, so your better off not doing it. Get married.

For Catholics, it is a sin. Any impure words, thoughts or actions are a sin. It makes for a very hard segue into married life. As a Catholic who married at 18 in the seventies, they had pre-cana classes. What they needed to have were de-programming classes.
