This is a very absurd question....
What do you think, huh? What if a big guy punches you... how would you turn out?
Dogs have feelings too, and certainly your friend will rot in hell. If you are a friend of his... do what's right and tell him to stop doing that. You can go to jail for that...
Sigh...

Yes, you should call up the Humane Society and ask for their help to investiage that poor German Shepherd's condition. That is a very sweet thing to do. You will remain anonymous, so don't worry.

When i got my dog she had been abused so bad for 6 months she was 6 months old and there were cigarette burns on her belly, whip marks, her ribs were hanging out she was very malnourished. She too was kept outside until my uncle took her away from the people who owned her previously and brought her to me and my family. It was the worst thing i had ever seen the poor thing was almost ugly :(. I would definitely say report them for abuse. Abuse is abuse no matter how or in what weird way they try to justify. The dog can't speak for itself only other people can. If they are punching the dog that is wrong 100% even if they are doing it in discipline the only discipline that a dog understands is a little smack on the nose and butt. If you punch is in the side it's not going to understand that it's doing something wrong. Whether they would turn out mean or scared is completely up to the dogs personality. My dog is the sweetest dog you could ever want to meet if I let you in my house! She is very protective over me and my family if you break in she will bite you! She has two warnings from the police and has killed another dog I guess you could say she's aggressive. It really all depends on the type of abuse the people who receive the dog next and there personality. I would definitely report them even if you do it anonymously the dog will be happy you did!!!

Dogs who have been beaten generally turn out to be aggressive towards people, because they feel they need to in order to defend themselves.
I've seen a couple dogs who were 'trained' with excessive physical force, and they are skittish, quick to snarl and bite, and defensive. Not a good thing at all.
Also, some dogs take different types of training..... I've seen some dogs that work best with a little coercive training (the old style training - you know, using a prong collar, etc) whereas some more sensitive dogs do not respond well at all to that. My dog is sensitive, using any force at all seems to turn her right off of training. I use treats and positive reinforcement only.
You should definitely report your neighbour - a dog deserves a better life than that.

Tell him to knock it off. I know its hard, but its the right thing to do. Even if the dog turns out with manners, its still abuse to the dog. If the dog turns out mean, he may be killed because his owner was an idiot.
Punch your friend, ask him how he likes it?
Do it the next 12 years, see how he turns out.

People who have dogs and don't walk them or untie them ever should have the dog taken away. A dog like a Shepard needs exercise to be healthy. Why have it if all you do is feed it?
Report your Friend too he shouldn't own an animal either.Next time he punches the dog punch him for me.

Dogs need training not hitting. A dog gives back what you put in. A dog is part of a pack, you being the top dog so to speak, it learns from you. Hitting animals is wrong. As for your neibour yes report it. You can see its wrong so do something about it plz.

The dogs turn out to be really mean or they turn out to be really introverted and don't trust humans that much .And your friend is a real jerk for punching dogs.
