May be a tough one to pull off as subway have a weird system of staff moving up and down the counters, but head in there for a few days in a row (dont get stalker like about it and do it for weeks or anything) and try to make brief eye contact and a little smile without saying a thing, then at the end of the week jot your name and number on a piece of paper and hand it over underneath your cash (not a bunch of coins either) to her when she is on the till. Hopefully she will see what it is straight whilst avoiding embarresing her in front of everyone and her co-workers (or being beaten a pulp by a load of people in the queue who want their sarnies) and even if you dont hear from her it will give her something to talk about and with a bit of luck make her feel good too.
Of course Im not sure I would have the nuts for this myself, but hey if you got the confidence, might be worth a shot.

Try to get there between 3-5. Get a sub and a soda and eat in, usually there will be only 1 or 2 staff working. Time your chance, finish your soda and ask for refill (or pay for refill) - you will be able to see her attitude by doing this (hope she will free you from paying for the refill), if she is kind enough you can ask for her name and thank her. Show up around the same time for a few more times, and get her infos (things like her hobbies) and then ask her out according to her answers.

just go to the subway that she works at and find out what days she works. go there when she is working, and start up casual convos with her. if the vibe is good and she seems into you, go ahead and ask her out! good luck! =]

wait for the girl to come out of work and introduce yourself in a casual way. dont rush too mush into asking her, get to know her first and let her know a little bit more about you. then just ask her out when u feel like its time. lol

Wait till shes working, and the store is NOT busy she would have moe time to small talk. Talk to her a bit as she is making your sandwich and see how she responds to you, if it seems positive, go for it . If not at least you tried.

if youre too ugly then dont ask her out - she'll try to get out of it or would turn you down.
