It's possible, yes! the reason is that sperm can live in your uterus and fallopian tubes until you ovulate. I agree that it's less likely that you'll become pregnant, but there are many factors here that will affect this chance. The survivorability of the sperm is one, another is the length of your menstrual period. Here are some links to read about it further.

You are only fertile during your ovulation cycle. For most women this is 10 to 12 days after the start of your period. I don't think any woman ovulates during her cycle, so you have nothing to worry about.

The rhythm methods works statistically, not perfectly, nor reliably. A girl can in principle get pregnant anytime -- it's that the likelihood of pregnancy is greatest during ovulation (link #2)
