First make sure whether he is pretending or if he really means it. If it's pretending then I don't think that there will be a problem. By the way he is almost double your age and I am sure that he sure knows how to control his emotions. On the other hand I guess he is trying to be possesive and dominant. So take care, say your real feelings to him openly, because at 22 you are still to experience life.

Just tell him it's over, that you're not as into it as he is. Don't let yourself feel like you have to stay in it because he thinks it's love. It sounds like he's overbearing, probably controlling, and makes you uncomfortable, so there's no reason for you to stay in this relationship!
