Ate guinea pig in Peru. Its raised as a food animal there, expecially
in the Andes. I was visiting with some friends and we got invited to
lunch the plate came out with some rice and a lot of sauce covering a small body with a paw sticking up out of the sauce
( it was cleaned and skinned but the foot was still on, nails and all)
To tell you the truth it looked like a roasted rat, but with my bad
Spanglish I asked what it was, the lady said "cuye" and I knew
that wasn't rat, so I ate it. Tasted a lot like rabbit but greasier,
good chili sauce on top. Later we toured her property and she
showed us her chicken pen, goat pens, etc then one area with a
lot of straw and a mad rush of little bodies running to hide as
we approached, it was a ton of fat guinea pigs, all running in
fear that they were next on the menu.

I had some unknown breaded meat in an Indian restaurant. I've never tasted anything remotely like it before, or ever since. I don't know what it was I ate at that restaurant and I'm not sure I want to know.

Rattlesnake - tastes like chicken. I just couldn't keep eating.
Deer - wild and gamey and I can't get it past my nose anymore
Antelope - please
Rabbit - too hard for me to get to my mouth.
We have a friend who makes a soup every so often out of road kill. One of these days he's going to die....I can't get it close to me or even in my home....Yuck!
I'm staying with beef, chicken and the stuff from the stores.
My husband is a hunter and I finally told him to quit as I just can't stomache that stuff.....

I recently ate jelly fish in the restaurant of a Vietnamese friend. It was really good. I ate pig's ears there too.
I recently found tinned squid in its own ink at a local shop. That wasn't bad either.

I have eaten raw moose (in Norway) and rabbit at a fancy California restaurant.
My husband knows people inside the county of Los Angeles who used to send their boys out with rifles to "bring back dinner."
It's real. Road kill is more tender, I fear.

Antelope, croc, goat, monkey, snakes - I used to live in S. Africa so that stuff isn't really all that strange to me, but I have been told it is gross. I also have a sneaking suspicion that I ate rat on more than one occasion during the rainy season.

I've eaten alligator jerky before. Strangely enough, it was tasty. Felt really weird about it though...
