David,
You are a christian. Stop this evil and deceptive form of missionizing. It degrades christianity.

on the side, the subject of Isaiah 53 is promised a "long life" and "seed" (i.e. physical children). clearly this isn't about jesus.

on the side, isaiah 9 can't be about jesus since, according to christianity, he's the "son" not the "father" (as the verse states). Nor did he have control of the governement (to the contrary, the roman government killed him). And he certainly did not establish "endless peace".

How can it be "jewish" to believe in jesus. "Jewish" is, by defintion, what jews have historically and contemporarily believe. Since in neither scenario do we find "believing in jesus", then we must clearly realize that belief in jesus is not something "jewish". You can call it "biblical" (and still be wrong), but certainly not "jewish".

and isaiah 7 is clearly not messianic if you read the whole chapter. and "alma" doesn't mean virgin either. You'd know that if you spoke hebrew (I guess it wasn't part of your "extensive jewish upbringing", huh?)

Well, I'm happy you found Jesus and let him into your heart. I believe the spiritual person of Jesus is quite unique and most people can not truly comprehend the person of Jesus. I myself am a Muslim and believe in Jesus in accordance to Islamic thought. However, I do feel his presence in this world and know he loves us. I also feel the same about the Holy Prophet Muhammad. The two are from the same source and offer amazing and unlimited spiritual guidance to God for all of us.

60. "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was this wise: When as his mother Mary espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost…..behold the angel of the lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto the Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost." (1:18:20)
C. ~ No educated man can ever believe in such things as are oppose to all kinds of evidence (such as direct Cognition. Inference, etc.) and to the laws of nature. Only people in a state of barbarism can believe them. It does not become educated and civilized men to do so. Breathes there a man who could violate the laws of God? Should anyone succeed in subverting His law, no one will ever obey His commandments, nor would God Himself break His own laws as He is Omniscient and infallible.

If this story of the birth of the Christ were held to be true, an unmarried girl that happens to conceive could say that she was with child of the Holy Ghost. She could also falsely say that the angel of the Lord told her in a dream "that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost"! This story is as possible as that recorded in the Puraanas about Kunti being conceived of the Sun. only those who have 'more money than brains' can believe in such things and fall an easy prey to superstition. It must have happened like this that Mary co-habited with someone and thereby became enceinte. She or someone else gave out (such an impossible thing) that she had conceived of the Holy Ghost.

Jesus is an avatar put together by the Nicene Council in 325 A.D. This avatar was updated and refined in 340 A.D. by the second Nicene Council.

As an avatar, Jesus can be quite comforting since he will conform to whatever you'd like him to be or do.

My Father, Redeemer, Savior, Prince of Peace, Friend, Councelor.
My Rock, Foundation, the one I run to when I screw up, The One who loves me, and knows me, cherishes me, forgives me, guides me, and tests me.
I start to cry when I think of all of the things he has done for me.
And then I cry when I think about how I do not deserve such a Wonderful Redeemer. May God bless you, brother in Christ.

First, Praise God that you have discovered the Christ concealed in the old testament, revealed in the new!

to me he is Lord of lords and King of kings, Messiah, a friend that sticks closer than a brother and saviour

I am very happy for you, if you wish to have this intermediary between you and enlightenment, well fine. Me I am an enlightened spirit, at one with and part of infinate creation. A singularity of infinite love. I get this wacky dogmatic religious thing, I do, but I prefer to be a part of god, than detatched and always begging to god!

Jesus is my Savior, my Redeemer and Lord. He died for me and for the world. He changed my life the day I opened my heart to Him. I believe that He is the son of God, that He died and rose again and He's coming again someday.
