Somedays out of the week the house i llive in smells like fish. No we did not eat fish for a meal. One thing it could be is that i drive a 70's beatle and park it in my garage and the shut the door right after. So for the whole night it stinks like gas. Also it only smells after and during when the AC is runnig. If anyone knows please clue me in. Thank you

Your problem is, you live too close to the Catholic Mission and they serve fish on Fridays. Move to another neighborhood!

Mildew under the right conditions can start to smell like fish once it has been around for a while. Otherwise, check your transmission fluid and brake fluids to make sure that they have not leaked into your garage floor or have spilled into your engine bay, burning fluids can cause a bad odor like a fishy smell. Also, check to make sure that you don't have a dead rat hanging around anywhere. (Once they die, they can start to decomp. and smell like fish also)

try getting your furnace and vents all cleaned out. then stick bounce sheets or vent covers on your vents... our old house smelled rotten it was gross... and I am a total neat freak. turns out everytime we turned on the furnace it was cooking the mice and squirrls getting into the house, we found out how they were getting put that to a stop, cleaned the furnace and vents and put in bouce sheets the smell went away ewwww memories YUCKY
