Would you use it?

There seems to be an assumption that if it goes into your fuel tank it won't get into your bloodstream. This is not the case. A substantial proportion of fuel doesn't get burnt, but gets expelled into the atmosphere. Not enough to get you intoxicated, probably, unless you are in Los Angeles maybe, but rules are rules, aren't they?

Lol, gave me a giggle at 3 AM, quite the accomplishment!

Alcohol is forbidden because it is an intoxicant of the mind. God tells us in the Quran that a drunk person is considered a rejector of God until he is sober again. But let's take a look at a few things. Alcohol of the rubbing type is used as an antibacterial, which is very beneficial in medical situations, in hygene, etc. Using alcohol to clean an external wound is not going to cause one to get drunk, so it is not forbidden to be used in this manner. Let's look at it another way, if one was to drink gasoline/fuel (and survive) wouldn't his mind be in an altered state? However gas and other sources of fuel are not forbidden to use.

Sometimes it just takes a little bit of reasoning and you'll surely find the answer.

Alcohol blended fuel for our transportation? There is no restriction in Islam against it... only drinking it or getting drunk off of a Bud or Heineken or your favorite Merlot. Our trains, planes and automobiles can drink all they want. Just keep the price down and we're happy.

Why would the average muslim care about fuel?

Yeah, nothing wrong with it. The restriction in Islam is on its cosumption or ingestion to your body, not your car.
