no.. properly adapted spacers will not hurt.. it depends upon the dentist skill.. if dentist had advised the spacer better go with that.. it will prevent future malocclusion or problem.... [dentist]

The spacers I had did not hurt at all. They were just kind of annoying, because I always felt like there was popcorn stuck in my molars or something! But after the first 2 days, you barely notice them. In fact, by the time I was going to get them removed, I had swallowed one and didn't even realize it! =)

I've had spacers many times before, and they really don't hurt that much. Just like everyone said, you can feel the tension when they put them in, but also it feels like you have something stuck in your teeth (if they use the rubber ones). But after a while, you just forget about them.

like i've said on your other question...it does need getting used to.
when the dentist force the spacers in, you can't feel a thing at all, except for a weird tension.
the next day you wake up you'll find some teeth wobbling a bit...and after some time it really hurts to eat. after about 4 days you'll get used to it but it may be a few more days till you can eat solid food (i survived on porridge)

Yes, they do hurt when you get them put on so take tylenol or advil or aleve whichever works best.
They hurt like I said above, but not like everybody says.
The pain also depends on how much the spacers have to move your teeth to be able to put braces on and how high your pain tolerance is.
It jsut depends on the person of how bad the pain is.

i have personal experience! i've had spacers twince and from experience i can tell you that your teeth will be a little bit sore for the first couple of days, its just your teeth will be moving and there will be a little pain, thats all. i have braces and every six weeks i experience a little bit of pain as my teeth move to how their suppsoed to be. pain is beauty! believe me its worth it!!
