There are a few reasons that we tickle. They include bonding, flirting, power, enjoyment and erotic pleasures.
BONDING:
When a mother bonds with her baby, she frequently tickles the baby. The baby sees hey smiling and hears her saying “Kootchie Kootchie Koo” and the baby smiles and laughs. The mother sees her baby smiling and laughing and the mother laughs and smiles with the baby. The baby learns love and laughter from this. Other family members also bond with the baby this way, too. As long as the tickling is not too long or too hard, the baby benefits from it.
FLIRTING:
One of the most beautiful sounds in the world is the sound of female laughter. When a girl or lady is laughing (especially laughing out of enjoyment), people (men and women) love to hear it. This makes it a natural way for boys to flirt with girls. Fortunately, there are a number of ladies who also love to hear a man laugh so they will tickle us to flirt, too.
POWER:
One of the biggest drawbacks to tickling is that some people will engage in non-consensual tickling because they are bigger and stronger than the person they are tickling. Frequently they will tickle the victim too long and/or too hard and take all the fun and enjoyment out of tickling. Some people are actually traumatized when they are tickle-tortured as a child by a parent, friend or relative. And why were they tickled? Because the irresponsible person who tickled them loved their laughter and had the power to get it any time they wanted to. The had the power but not the respect or desire to keep it fun for the person being tickled.
EROTIC PLEASURES:
When playful, erotic tickling is introduced into an adult relationship, it can be very erotic. It is not at all uncommon for the ticker and the ticklee, regardless of gender, to become aroused when they are being tickled playfully and/or erotically. Imagine being tickled by ostrich feathers or soft, dry watercolor paint brushes. In adult situations, long playful, erotic tickling encounters can be an awesome form of extended foreplay.
I hope that this answers your question adequately.
All the best to you!

It's a good feeling to make someone laugh. . . to stimulate them in a way that they can't control. Laughter is the best medicine.
