Non pregnancy related. Like a craving for salty foods means you are low on salt. Or craving chocolate means you are low on antioxidants.

I say yes, if you're actually talking about food that contains something your body needs, but it sounds like you're looking for an excuse to eat sh*t.

The chocolate I can explain, since I used to have an addiction, literally. After you have dinner, or when you haven't had it for some time, your sugar level in blood is low. It doesn't mean that you are hungry, or you don't get enough of it, it is just the body that needs to higher its level of sugar after salty foods. If your body craves chocolate in these moments and you dont't have any, you are most likely to be grumpy.
The salt, I can explain too. Humans were designed this way since the beginning of time. BEcause they had to hunt and look for food for days, they were able to stuff themselves when they found food. When your tongue feels food, mostly salt, because it has a stronger taste, it needs more to fill up it's reserves so you don't starve. Luckily it doesn't happen as often in the twenty first century, but human's anatomy is built that way.

Well, if it's craving something like milk, it could mean you need calcium. But if it's like candy or something, then you are probably just having a craving. Don't give in to it, whatever you do! Drink some water, and distract yourself. It should go away in about ten minutes. If not, indulge yourself, but only a little. Don't want to get fat!

I don't know about those particular examples, but yes, that can be the case. People low on Vitamin C often crave tomatoes or oranges. I've even heard of people craving dirt. I think they were low on iron or something. People low on calcium often crave dairy.

no~those cravings are just that you are craving salt or chocolate especially if they're not pregnancy related.
some people crave dirt i think they need the iron in the dirt, and some people crave shaved ice~i don't know what they are craving.
but too much salt is bad for you and chocolate is ok in moderate amounts
