You need to distance yourself from him until you have your feelings under control. Take some time to yourself for personal healing. Once you can think about him or see him without feeling sad or hurt, you're ready to be friends with him. Tell him that you need some time to heal. If he's willing to wait and give you space until you're ready, then he does want to keep you as a friend. If not, it'll be good to separate yourself from him...and don't go back! Hope everything works out.

It's very likely. But for ALL the wrong reasons. If he gets back together with you it will probably just be because he wants something you shouldn't be giving a guy like that. I would suggest being his friend if hes a good guy. But be wary and dont get taken advantage of.

You need to step away from this person. He doesn't care enough...plain and simple. His wanting to be just friends more than likely means he know you still care and he can use you when it suits him.
Move on...maintain your self respect and not let yourself be vulnerable to a loosing situation. Love yourself first. There are many out there who can give you much more...let it happen.

I just pulled the same thing on my b/f...I just want to be friends with him because i like who he is.....we had great times together and he has always been there when i needed him(even when we weren't dateing)....To lose someone so important in my life.....i just i couldn't do it. But i couldn't date him either... so we're working on the 'just friends' thing... I think it will work out ight...

sounds like he wants a "cushion"... he has something else lined up better than he thinks you are, but if that goes south, he needs a fall-back position...
here is your decision: tell him you'll be his friend, but get yourself someone else (male or female) who loves you and respects you (cos he doesn't)... then when he starts saying "i want you back", tell him you've moved on... that should really annoy him!!!! :D

No. Bad Idea. Why would you want to let him have his cake and eat it too. Find someone else. Trust me on this.
