I've been thinking about buying a cat, and I absolutely love blue/gray haired breeds. From what I hear about Russian Blue and Korat, they can be quite shy and tempermental. I am really interested in the Chartreux breed, but have been able to find no info on pricing. I know purebred probably isn't the most affordable way to go, and that there are a lot of affordable greyhaired mixed breeds, but I'd like to know where I could find a breeder in canada/northeastern US

The best way to find out is to located a breeder. You can check out the TICA: http://www.tica.org/html/english/home/

You will be able to find a breeder near you, whom you can contact and get lots of information from.

Good luck in your search!

I had a Korat cat in the 80s and I have another one now, both extremely affectionate, playful, alert, and responsive. Korats are not aloof like some cats. They bond strongly with their human companions and need lots of stimulation. They love their toys and will play for a long time. Korats are not cats you can leave alone for days at a time. It would be cruel. Ours wants lots of attention, and he has many ways of showing it. If he's not sleeping, he wants us to be with him, either playing, cuddling, or just hanging out.

They don't like to share attention with other cats in the household, so if you want two cats (to keep each other company), get two Korat kittens so they will grow up together. If you are looking for a cuddly, sweet tempered, intelligent, loving cat and you have time to spend playing with it and cuddling with it, you might consider a Korat. Be sure to get one from a responsible breeder who doesn't keep their cats in cages. I got both of mine from breeders who let their kittens and adult cats run loose in the house. You can probably find one on the web. Good luck.
