Your idea is perfect because you and your fiance will educate everybody about different cultures. I will be doing the same thing in my upcoming wedding. To tell you the truth, in America, Luther Vandross's songs are always used in weddings. his classic songs are great and some couples walk down the isle. One of his songs are called "Here and Now". I can not think of the name of his other songs. don't forget Miss Patti Labelle who has beautiful songs. Maybe you can listen to their songs in the store, on the internet, and ask around. FOR your wedding you should have 2 acts where you have Caribbean dancers and Mexican ( or other latinos) perform for everyone. maybe each of you can dancer with the entertainers and surprise the guests. Don't forget to play Reggaeton for your reception because you know this is a mixture of Latino and Caribbean music. Have fun and congrats!

I think you're buying into some of the wedding industry's hype. You don't have to have a "theme" to have a great wedding. In fact, I think the best events -- weddings or otherwise -- are not so much themed as designed around a central idea or message. When you say "theme" (and that's Martha Stewart and Brides Magazine's fault) you cheapen it a little. It makes me think of a little kid's birthday party. (And if you say you want your wedding theme to be "Pirates of the Carribbean" then I will officially give up!)

Just do what feels right to celebrate your marriage, and the pieces will fall into place without anything commercial about it sneaking in. Best of luck to you!

I would say you bring in each tradtions mabey by means of food, and music and mabey some of some small wedding customs from each. But you make this sound like it is a race issue, This is about the union of families. Let it be that and no about race. Themes for weddings are stupid. Make it unique for you and him.

Maybe have a Capoeira group perform, steel drum band playing would be nice too... Maybe on the beach facing the Ocean... kinda like it resembles the journey/life you will share together. Not knowing what kind of waves are ahead, but gliding over them together. Congratulations!!! May God bless your union.

Why are you making such a big deal of your and your fiance's ethnicity? A wedding is a wedding no matter the color or ehtnic background of the bride and groom. This is a wedding, dear, NOT a forum for you to stage a league of nations meeting.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO USE SUCH A SPECIAL DAY TO MAKE A POINT OF YOUR DIFFERENT RACES? IS THAT WHY YOU'RE WITH HIM? I DON'T THINK THAT'S A GOOD SIGN!
