i'm currently undergoing the symptoms of mono....about 3 weeks ago i came home from work with what i thought at the time to be the flu. when i got home, i was EXTREMELY hot and couldn't get cool. i ended up having a 103 temp, body aches, and a sore throat. a day later my tonsils had pus on them and it hurt really bad to swallow even my own spit. i thought i kicked whatever i had and was well again, but now i got sick once more. i went to the doctor and found out i had mono. i've read that it lasts only for a few weeks, and i may be almost over this disease, but i know that i must have passed this on to many other people, including my girlfriend. i know once you have this virus, it stays in your body, but how long will it take for everything to return to normal? could i get mono again later in life? or am i now immune to it?

The ditz who stated here that you can get mono again is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. It is impossible to contract it again, however you can have relapses of the original disease. You will always have a lifelong immunity to it, and just because you have had contact with say your girlfriend, that does not mean she will necessarily come down with it. You may suffer tiredness and relapses for weeks to come. Again, don't listent o those who assure you you can get it again because you CAN'T! It's totally impossible even if someone SWEARS they had it again and again. Not so! Guaranteed.

what's mono, do you mean mumps. in hardship-free words an immun assay try delivers you with a defintive answer, hence you'll favor to take him to a well being care specialist to have blood withdrawn. Unfortunetly i can't inform you both way, yet once you've children they might want to be immuned adversarial to it for the first 6 months, in case you breastfeed them. After 6 month their immune equipment will favor to make stronger its own memory.

Yes, you can definitely get mono again. Its quite serious and the after effects (being a little more tired and the like) can last up to a year after the infection. It does a number on your immune system.

Take care of yourself and make sure you do everything the doctor tells you. If you know you've passed it on to others, make sure they get treated right away.
