Look, I'm no expert here but I really need the two points so here goes. Atheists by definition are a-theistic which means without theism kinda. Like aseptic means without septic. and like atypical means not typical. My best guess is that they just don't much think about God. There are whole cultures that don't much think about God as we know Him.
I hope that helps.
I hope you will award me the ten points because I believe in points and the power and prestige they bring. If I become the top points earner I will be almost God like.

They don't believe in a God, but more importantly they don't believe.
Believe is a religious act of declaring your membership in a religious organization by affirming that some nonsense is true. You sell your mind to get the comfort of membership.
What really annoys believers about atheists is not that they don't believe in God but that they are not members of their group. Atheists are outsiders because they are not members. That act of not wanting to be a member is perceived as a hostile act by the believer. That is what really upsets believers and why they want to eliminate atheists.

I do not believe in deities. I do believe in living the best life possible with the time I am alive here on this earth. I believe in making my family and friends feel loved and happy. I believe in helping my community by volunteering. I believe that everyone is born with the tools to gain the knowledge to make the best life possible here on earth. I believe in being happy - and I am!

Specific atheist such as christians and muslims are without faith in all other gods but the one they do believe in.
