because there are fluids like blood on the needle and the virus can live for a while in the fluid. Used needles have blood and other fluid on them, therefore, there is a high chance of transmitting the disease.

HIV travels in blood. Blood left on needle can carry on to the next user, and get injected right into your stream. Simple enough, eh? It isn't really in the air if it's still in blood, and it may be able to survive in air, it just can't TRAVEL by it. Not an airborne virus. Though I'm not positive.

If you use a needle that is not sterilized and that has already been used, blood could still be in the needle from the previous user...if that person is HVI positive and you use the same needle then you are exposing yourself to their infected blood, this is one way that HIV is transmitted from one person to another.

Because of blood that is (liquid) left on the needle when two people share it. HIV can be transmitted thru fluids.Good Luck!

The surface of the needle can be contaminated with fluids, where the virus *can* survive.

it may not die in the time the needle is passed from one person to another- especially if there is blood on the needle
