So very true. It's not our fault they aren't happy with their lives. Maybe they would be if they didn't compare their lives to us everyday. I enjoy my life very much, but if you compare it to a celeb, I'm not doing so hott. They just need to make the best of what they have, because our lives get worse with every one that comes over here illegally. Harsh but true.

Ginger V. it sounds like you should move to Mexico if you think the life is so much better there, and the people are more polite. I think if the hispanics spent half as much time protesting in mexico as they did in America, maby, just maby, they might be able to get something done to improve their way of life.
in the state I live, within 2 months of each other, two cars driven by illegals, took the lives of 2 police officers, one of them had two small children. and guess what... both of those illegals get to spend some time in jail getting three meals a day, all at the tax payers expence. what a deal.
I said this before, I too would like to have a better life for me and my family,
does that give me the right to rob a bank?
both are illegal aren't they? hmmm....

My biggest objection with illegals is the fact that we end up with so many people who obviously, by the very means with which they came into our country, prove that they have no respect for our laws. Even if we forgave them and made it all okay, there is still that original fact standing over their heads, and I don't think we need new people who start out in that manner. We have enough crime and law-breaking going on, and I don't feel we need more who come with that mentality already in place.
So yes, they are being self-centered - but if you look at most of the other law-breakers and criminals in the world, I think you'll see that this is a common trait. Criminals don't look out for the common good, or care one way or another about how their actions effect anyone else - murderers, for instance. Or even the burglar who steals children's Christmas presents.
Selfishness and self-centered actions go hand in hand with that mind-set. And we sure don't need anymore of either.

I have been married to a Mexican for 8 years, he came here illegally in 1998, he has been legal since 2000, it was fear of loosing him that took so long to file his papers, if Mexicans knew where to go or how to file to come here legally they would!
most of them pay more money to get here illegally then what they would have to pay to do it legally, the problem is they don't know what to do,
I know more loving and caring people in Mexico then I do here in the USA, they care about each other and are always nice to me when i go there, i have never once heard a racist remark towards Americans, they are respectful and loving people
I'm sure they would all be willing to come here legally if it was quicker and easier to apply to come here!
I think the ones that are here illegally should be given a chance to be legal without being sent back, after all we are all Gods children, and what it actually boils down to in the end is money, immigration don't get their money if they don't apply, someone else is getting rich by bringing them here illegally
my husband had to pay a thousand dollar fine for coming here illegally in the first place, If you break the law you should have to pay a fine, but it doesn't mean that you don't care, I wouldn't leave my family and friends and move to a strange place where no one understands me if i didn't care about any of the people there would you?

I think that it's only natural for some people to have a great amount of compassion for people they feel are less fortunate. I think this is largely a good thing. Most of these people don't realize the high cost of what they are proposing, though. I think it is a complicated issue and one that will not be solved easily or soon. I just hope for some sort of compromise that will do for the meantime and one that will protect the interests of Americans and those who truly want to be Americans.

Yes, they claim ILLEGALS just want a "better life", but their "better life" is at the EXPENSE of the American people!!!!
to "sly" American people have a RIGHT to "think of ourselves first"!!!!!! We have that RIGHT to own property and work in this country, because we are NOT here illegally!!!
This is our country, and it's OUR money that is being used to subsidize these illegals!!!!
Would YOU be willing to give up your money to support someone ELSE while YOUR family does without????? I don't THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't meet many people that don't claim they want a better life. The mexican government is out of control and has no respect for its own. they would rather turn their backs on the citizens of mexico than to do their jobs.

They claim that we are self centered but they won't stay out of here. They disrespect America, yet they die in the sand getting over here. How does that make any sense at all?

Yet they are willing to ruin our country to get a better life, they desert their countries and come here to STEAL. ILLEGAL ALIENS are CRIMINALS.... nothing more, nothing less.... just every day criminals... that is all they can be, they are here illegally.
The flood of these criminals will impact the lives of American children. They are already straining our infrastructure, ruining our schools and communities, breaking our laws in every way possible.

Yes, I agree with you. I don't think we are selfish or self-centred to try to protect our way of life and our borders. Illegal immigrants are the selfish ones to ignore our laws and cross our borders without applying for permission to enter and then expecting Americans to subsidize their "better life."
