I love 50's rock 'n roll and everything related to that era, but my cousin prefers rap and hip-hop, so it gets kind of boring sometimes being with him, how should I make him get into my style?

Your cousin is his own person, he's going to have his own tastes. Introduce him to the music and things you like, but don't try and force him to like it.

All music is related in some way. Find a hip hop or rap band that samples music from the 50's. Doo wop has made somewhat of a comeback. Start enjoying his music more and point out the '50's things in it. But I think he's trying to fit in with the crowd and you have your own individual taste, so it's a difficult match.
I am a fan of progressive rock, which is really obscure music to most people. Prog rock is basically virtuoso musicians who play rock that sounds like classical or jazz, but has heavy amplification. Sound pretty nerdy. So not many kids these days like it, but I bet if I took some rap fan to a Yes concert and they weren't tone deaf they would enjoy the concert and see why I like it. I hope you have luck. I respect Rap as an art form, but I think the lyrics are terrible sometimes.

If we all liked/did the same things as everyone else, THAT would be very boring in my opinion. Let your cousin like what he likes, even if you don't like his choices, that's why every human being is different, thank God!
You can expose him to your kind of style/music etc. If he starts to like some of it, great! If he still likes his own things, that's great too.
You can't change what people like in this world, you can only show them. Hence the saying "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink"

You can't. You can only appreciate your differences. How would you like it if your cousin insisted that you wear Rap clothes, haircut and listen to Rap music. Just remember that he is your cousin and you can always find common ground. I mean everyone has girlfriend problems. Everyone likes pizza. Everyone likes to gossip about the other family members. You know you can always find common things to talk about and appreciate the differences. Ask him what he finds most interesting in Rap. You're cousins.

Being unique and an individual is what America is all about. If you want everyone to be the same leave the country. Leave your cousin alone let them be their own person and love them for their differences. It's okay to share your interest but not force something on someone that's abusive and controlling.

First of all you can't MAKE anyone like anything. Since your tastes are so different the best you can hope for is mutual respect of each others style.
Find other interrests you BOTH enjoy doing together. Don't let your differences in musical tastes detour your relationship. After all you are family.

You probably have no hope...I would suggest compromising both ways, I am a rock'n'roll man myself, however there is rap that I enjoy simply for the musical and lyrical value of it. For him there is older music (maybe not 50's) that hip hop originated from. Jazz and blues. He won't be you and I assure you if he was exactly alike, you probably wouldn't get along with him.

hi, you cant make anyone get into anything that you want them too. you should enjoy the differences that your cousin has and also respect what he listens to..people like what they like and thats it, how about one weekend you guys borrow each others music etc and make a real attempt to listen to them and see exactly what the other person is grooving to, that way you might or may not have new respect for other tpes of music and this goes both ways as well..but at the end of the day. be free and let others be free too....

I am sure that everything you like is awesome but you have to let your cousin be his own person.....I mean would you like it if he tried to make you like rap and hip hop? You can ask him to listen to it and try to appreciate it but don't force him.

Dont! He is his own person with his own personality. Just think that if we were all alike this would be a very boring place/life. Just deal with it and if you cant find someone else to hang with that does like the same things that you do.
