yes. the substance in chocolate called theobromine (spelling?), found in the highest amounts in baking chocolate is toxic and often causes death if vomiting is not induced quickly after ingestion. Also, activated charcoal is used to help slow the effects of further intoxication. Ohh, and chocolate does not give a cat worms, maybe diarrhea, but not worms.

Research has recently established that cats don't have the receptors to "taste" sweets.

It is my understanding that dogs are most subject to poisoning from chocolate as they don't seem to have any sense about how much to eat of ANYTHING. Cats are a little more circumspect in this respect.

Chocolate can have a bad effect on cats. The more 'intense' the chocolate the greater the adverse effect. So triple chocolate mouse (I trust you know what I mean, spellcheck is not going to help here!) So you have to gauge the amount in relationship to the size of the kitty.

At any rate don't ever FEED your cat chocolate. I love chocolate pudding and eat it a lot. My cat Kinsey likes to lick the bowl after I have finished my cereal and I do not let him lick the chocolate pudding dish.

Chocolate can be harmful or deadly to a small percentage of cats. Some cats are more tolerant of it than others. Just keep them away from it full stop. The sticky/runny sap from Lillies is also deadly to cats.

Chocolate is very bad for animals.
If your cat ate some, call a vet.

Yes. Pets should NEVER touch the chocolates that we eat, coz it's a form of poison to them. There's chocolate drops meant for pets sold in pet shops which is more of like vitamins to them.

depending on the age of that cat and the amount of chocolate that you give it...if it is a kitten and its a half a tablespoon of chocolate you can cause it dehydration through diarrea because their bodies cant handle anything but vitamins at that age, but if you cat is older and it is a small bit of chocolate no it wont hurt them at all but only if its like a half a tablespoon otherwise you do take a risk of hurting them...chocolate to cats is like water pills to us, diarrea and dehydration all the time...

its really bad for cats but i dont think it can kill them. as long as you dont give them tons and tons of chocolate then i think its fine. my dog once ate a whole chocolate cake that he pulled off of the counter while we were gone and he's fine.

i highly doubt it will kill the cat unless itss like some kind of weirdo cat. it will hurt his/her digestion system tho and human food isnt good for animals.

Both cats and dogs are allergic to chocolate. It will make them vomit profusely, and possibly lead to death.
