Get a good sized cooler and some dry ice they sell it at most grocery stores. Just put the dry ice around the ice cream and that will keep it cold for almost 24 hours so you'll be fine if you use it around 3 hours.

Find some dry ice for the cooler chest. You have to be very careful with dry ice, but it stays cold longer than H2O ice. Also try those blue ice bricks. They also come in "blankets". Try wrapping the icecream tubs in the blue ice blankets.
I think your best bet would be dry ice.

EASY, pack the ice cream in in a cooler with ice and mix in some rock salt. No kidding! It is great to chill beer as well. A hot beer will be cold in 10 minutes and when I mean cold I mean it will have ice in it! Dry ice is creepy, do this and you will never have to bother with dry ice which is a pain in the *** to deal with anyway.

seems to me that things stay cool in the trunk of my car and my car doesn't even have AC. So I would think if you put the ice cream with ice around it into the ice chest then put the ice chest into the trunk of your car and then put the car under the shade that would help. Otherwise, be creative and just have milkshakes.

dry ice, you can get it in the supermarket. put it around the bucket of ice cream,
if you want to do it the old fashion way, make the ice cream at the park with the old crank style ice cream maker.

Use dry ice in the coolers instead of regular ice, your ice cream will be frozen still in 3 hours.

Dry ice, now available in most supermarkets. Careful though, the ice cream might be rock-hard. Check it early and see if it needs to thaw.

This honestly will work I have done it. Use dry ice in an insulated icechest and it will stay frozen. Dry ice is much colder then regular ice. Just keep the lid shut as much as possible.
