I am 13 years old, 5'7, 145 pounds. I have a lot of fat around my stomach and my top (around my shoulders and back) is really big and bulky. I wear a size Juniors XL or Girls 161/2 at JcPenneys.

Am I too fat? My parents make comments about I'm a pig and I'm fat and eat too much. It is true that I eat a lot. I have tryed making myself throw up after I eat, but it doesnt work (just saliva). So now I have started limiting my food intake. Today I only ate 10 mozarella sticks, nothing else. I have tryed excersising by doing push ups, and sits ups. I have a disease so I cannot run or anything.

What should I do? Stop eating at all? Try to do more sit ups? Be bulimic? I am so confused :( help

If you have a disease that prevents you from running, go to a doctor to discuss a healthy way to lose weight. This is the easiest and best way to go about this.

Until then, don't eat less, just eat BETTER. More fruits, more veggies.

No, stop the throwing up first off. And don't go the other way by be anorexic. These can cause several problems because your body trys to compensate other nutrients. Heart Failure and other things can be caused by this. Second off You are fairly tall for 13. Third start by eating a little healthier. Mozzerella sticks are high in saturated fats. Do a sport you like such as swimming etc. Eat more fruits and veggies and eat lean meats. Eat smarter don't stop eating all together. Also drink tons of water. Sometimes your body immitates hunger. Substitute your cake snacks or chocolate for healthier snacks such as carrots or celery things high in water content. You may be big boned. I am one of those, but I am healthy. And the biggest substitute any sodas you may drink. Sodas are very high in sugar and calories. Substitute sodas with water and you can drop up to 20 pounds alone. Just eat wise.

Awe Miss, I'm sorry to read all that. If anything, it's your parents that need help - not you! I'm sorry they say that sort of thing to you. They shouldn't be, they are your parents and are there to be supportive and loving. Firstly, you're pretty tall for your age, 5"7, goodness I'm jealous! hehe. I'm 25 and only 5"3, eek! ;) ... Anyways, with that height, I really don't feel like you need to worry. Your body is going to be changing anyways, from now and for the next few years. Please don't try and make yourself throw up either, it's pretty bad for your asophagus (where your food travels down to your stomach)... you can tear, rip and damage it, which could lead to problems much worse than concern over weight. Eating 10 cheese sticks isn't really a good idea though, for anyone. You're better off to just eat regularily, and have lots of fruits and vegetables, you don't need to omit things like grains, and meats either. Eating that much cheese isn't good though, because it does pack a lot of fat in it. You don't need to run, so no worries there. Good idea just to go for walks, 40-50 mins a day. Not a huge commitment. Even if you were just to play outside for a bit each day, done! So no more throwing up Miss! k :) You'll be fine!

It sounds like you could stand to lose a few pounds.. You are better off being overweight though than making yourself puke (you will gain the weight back later and your teeth will be ruined from the acid).

Mozzarella sticks are loaded with fat and calories. Eat as much as you want but make sure it's lean healthy foods. Stop eating things that have no nutritional value and/or high in fat (i.e. no butter and jelly on the toast etc. no butter and sour cream on the potato, no butter on the popcorn) and weight will start to come off quick.

A lot of folks are into the low carb diet, but you will feel better and lose weight if you just eat a low fat diet. After a few days to a week of not eating fatty foods you will stop craving them.

Sweetie, do not make yourself throw up! 10 mozz stix is not healthy. You need to eat 3 small meals a day, drink lots of water and exercise. Swimming is great, plus the sunshine will give you a healthy bronze for back to school.
Unfortunately, you do not have supportive parents so turn to an aunt or a friend's mom to help give you some ideas for a meal plan.

i will say find out something .. some game or physucal activity that interests you .. and start doing it .. keep a record of what you eat .. like you should burn more energy than you intake .. use internet to obtain suitable energy content of what you eat .. and make a diary .. keep a track of your progress .. and you will see results .. i was too fat (not as much as you ) but i worked hard at gym and burned more than i ate and now i m gaining results ... and remember you didnt put up all that fat in 1 day or month so it wont go in 1 day or month but it will if you really do what i suggest .. i hope my answer will help you

Instead of eating less, try eating better - more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Meat is good but stick to the leaner stuff. And try to get more exercise; if you can't run try walking or swimming. You may be overweight but the problem is not insurmountable; tell your parents that teasing doesn't help, but you could use their support and guidance. Avoid bulimia at all costs; it could kill you, which would suck for everyone.

aI'm prett sure you look like one of your parents, they shouldn't call you fat or a pig, if anything, you can blame it back on them and say it's how they raised you.

u r not fat. i my mom and family say that all tha time. i dont care bout wat other people say so should u . if u can get a boy u r not fat. u r beautiful person it doesnt matter how u look in tha outside it matter wat in tha inside. dont let other people judge u and put u down. u need 2 believe in urself.
