I'm so sorry to hear your in pain. Unfortunately pain is expected especially during the first week. As the teeth slowly start to pull away from thier original place and move in their new position it will be uncomfortable. If you feel that pain meds arn't doing it for you you should call your Orthodontist and let them know your in severe pain. They should be able to place a lighter force of a wire. or even no wire at all.

Braces really hurt like hell. I got them on last year but my dentist just took out mine last week. What you can do is to put wax on the square stuff on your braces. I also put cotton inside my mouth just to prevent my braces from scraping my tongue and the sides of my mouth. But don't worry cause after a few days or a week, you'll get used to it.

if it's pain as in your teeth are pain, there's pretty much nutin you can do about it. just wait a few days and soon you won't feel anything at all, trust me :)

if it hurts because of ulcers, roll a tiny ball of dental wax(the one that comes in a little box...your dentist should hav given u that) and stick it onto parts of your braces so thay won't keep stickin into your flesh.

gogo :)

hey, i have had braces for almost 2 years. the only thing that i have found to help was orajel(i think thats how it is spelled). the only problem, is that is hard to put it on the spot that hurts. Other than that i learned how to deal with it.
Sorry, hope i was some help!!

You'll feel better soon. Just hang in there. Try some yogurt, ice cream, or anything soft. Been there - done that.
