I like the beachy color scheme (blues, blue-greens, white, tan), although my wedding will be in the country in the summertime at sunset. Would different hues of blues, greens, and white be okay for a country wedding? I can sort of picture it in my mind and it looks pretty, but I wish I could throw something together to know what it would really look like before the big day next July.

I have also had the suggestion of using sunset colors (pinks, oranges, blues, yellows)? I know that would be pretty too.

Any suggestions for how to see these colors together and pick the ones that are right for the wedding?

Blues, greens, and whites are PERFECT for a country wedding. You could add some yellow, too. The colors would be more muted. Just about any color you'll see in shabby chic decor is a country color. Just pick two colors, though.

Unless your wedding is over the top country, with cowboy hats and string ties, people are unlikely to notice that you have a country color scheme, though. Why not pick a color that looks good on your bridesmaids, and go from there? Your pictures will look much better if all the girls look good.

I am an interior designer, so I'll take the color board way of looking at it.

Go to the location, take a picture of the sunset, then post it on a piece of poster board and get some paint chips or color chips and put them next to the picture and see what works out.

I'm sure you have seen a color board at some point in your life. It is a great way to get thoughts out and see what will work.

Good luck and congrats.

I'm getting married next July in the evening as well. My colors are chocolate brown and aqua. Yes, it might sound icky but it's beautiful. We are having a dessert reception. Do whatever colors you want. Do you have theme? If you want a beach theme, can you find a lake or river and make it like a beach? I'm a very visual person and I'm getting married in San Diego (We live in Washington) and I have pictures of place we're getting married at and I try to plan with pictures. We just booked our location and I've doing ok with the planning with pictures. You can do it. It's your BIG day and you should have whatever your heart desires. Good Luck & Congrats!!!

Well, you could go to the fabric store and pick you out a bunch of different swatches of fabric....in all those colors. Take them to the spot you have picked out and try them out. If it's not a place that's accessible to you right now, maybe you could find a sunset picture to hold them up to. Either way, keep in mind that sunsets obviously vary in color.

I think blue and green would be really pretty together, and I actually just went to a wedding where the colors were a really light lime green and a tangerine orange. It sounds really weird, but it was actually very beautiful.

I love the colors blue and white. They go very well together and look very pretty. Imagine the bride (you) wearing a white dress and your bridemaid(s) wearing light blue. That would provide a soothing feeling and would look elegant too.
*By the way, Congratulations about your wedding!*

If it is going to be outside, you may want to think about the dirt, mud, etc that may dirty-up the lighter colored dresses. I have always thought that a goldish and navy color scheme is beautiful. But it is up to you...but if you choose green (go with a lighter color--you don't want to blend in with the green grass and trees). :)

Use whatever colors you like best. You will be decorating the venue, so you can choose to make it look however you wish. Just don't stress about every detail. Make the day special!
