Bladder infections are brutal on cats. I lost mine just this last January because of a bladder infection. Make sure he's staying hydrated, but there really isn't anything else you can do until you get him to the vet. If they want to put a catheter in him DO IT! I should have, but we went the other way, and it wasn't enough. Good luck!

What disease? I wouldn't worry. If he is seeing the vet tomorrow and has an infection you will be given some antibiotic for it. It should clear up pretty quickly and you must give ALL of the anitbiotic even if he seems better after a few days.
It takes a while to knock out all those little buggers!
Good luck.

is this disease definately a bladder infection? if so, there isn't anything you can do at home. DO NOT give any OTC meds intended for humans with cystitis, as they are for one, intended for humans only and cats are more extremely sensitive to toxic reactions with meds than other species such as the dog. unfortunately, he'll have to wait until the appt. tommorrow. yes, he will be uncomfortable. if you've ever had a bladder infection then you know. if he is truly miserable with signs of extreme discomfort and pain, don't wait until tomorrow and take him to your local emergency clinic. also, DO NOT give ANY type of pain medication. as mentioned, cats are extremely sensitive to shock/adverse reactions and in addition, most OTC human pain relievers are toxic and potentially lethal to cats.

Hydrangea is a must both to treat and prevent this problem. Cats (or any animal for that matter) should never drink chlorinated tap water. It can cause urinary tract crystals and/or cancer.
JP-X is fantastic for urinary tract infections (bladder or kidney). Give him one, three times daily. Even if it's the result of crystals in the urine, it will help with the resulting infection and the blood in the urine.

As far as the night goes...yuck! My cat(almost 12 yrs old this month) always got bladder infections and my vet told me to change his food...which I use Hills Prescription WD cat food(which is dry)...also on my own I changed his litter to a non-scented one...like Scoop Away. Just make sure he/she gets a lot of water for now...sorry!

HOW did you find out your cat has a 'disease'???? HMMMM? And depending on how long this poor cat has been sick, (there's a special place in Hell for people like YOU!), maybe he will live until tomorrow. SHEESH! I hate these stupid people that have animals and NO CLUE! I hope you never have kids, kid.

you can change your cats diet. i had a 18 year old cat that just died recently from renal failure. and i kept her on a low magnesium diet and when her kidneys died flare up the best thing to do is go to the vet. he will give her antibiotics and that really does help.
