People are the same around the world. They have the same basic needs, desires, fears and dangers. The cultures interract. It's no surprise at all that the successful cultures avoid random murders or theft or incest. Because of these similarities in motivations and natures of people, it's no surprise that we have similar basic morals everywhere. A society that favored killing randomly wouldn't do well and it would be overrun by a more reasonable competing society.
It's no problem at all for those atheists who believe in subjective morality (not all do.) The problem is for the Judeo-Christian religion. It should be a puzzle for them that if the Bible and belief in the Judeo-Christian God is the basis for morality, why do cultures that never heard of your God share these moral views? Seems the morality comes from a source other than your faith.
Now those are just the most basic, fundamental moral views. The more fundamentally shared the moral value is, the more we should enforce it with law. The less shared, the more we should leave it up to individual choice. Unfortunately, many of you want to enforce your particular set of morals on everyone.

No, it is not coincidence. It is a function of the human's base instinct for survival. There are two facets to survival - protecting oneself for obvious reasons and protecting the community at large, thus also protecting oneself in the process and continuing the species.
Sometimes these two instincts conflict and some people will be inclined to watch out for themselves and others will be inclined to continue to watch out for the community. It is from this conflict that arises "evil" or wrongdoing. When one attempts to protect themself to the detriment of the community (say, stealing, killing, not sharing, sleeping with another man's wife, etc.) then "evil" deeds are done. Then it is up to the community focused individuals to stop the destructive behavior (generally punishment) and return the balance.
In short, it is not coincidence, it is DNA, natural instinct, and the fact that we are all of the same species. Even animals show an understanding of right and wrong (apes shun other apes who try to steal anothers' food or mate, for example). They didn't read it in the Bible, did they?

do you think it's a coincidence that it's considered wrong regardless of whether they've ever heard the words Jesus H. Christ before? Stop being so closed-minded, dear. You underrate the human spirit and conscience by saying that all of this magic is a work of god - our intrinsic morality is far more beautiful and magical than the idea that some God gave it to us. Believe in your God, but don't make it a public issue or hate on atheists and agnostics simply because we feel differently than you. We have our reasons, and no, you aren't going to change them.

Why is this question asked of atheists and agnostics?
Are you suggesting that the only reason people know right from wrong is because of religion/God?
Why do "religious" people keep trying to make this point? Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over?
One does not need religion to have ethics and morals.
If you do, then I hope that you keep your faith. But it's sad if that's the only thing that keeps you from "killing, stealing, etc."
EDIT: And who ever said that morals had anything to do with evolution (in a biological sense). But they have developed (evolved) over the span of human existance.
I think you really need to learn what it is that you are talking about; that might help you avoid making these rather bizzare "points".

Of course morals are not produced by evolution.. morals are produced by society. Societies that have never heard of modern religions such as Amazon River Basin Tribes have exceedingly intricate morals. Morals are a shaped by the needs of a society at any one time which is why they change and grow as society does.
I will skip the websites thanks....I do not believe in deities and I have read a good deal of religious texts to come to that conclusion.

Actually, there are lots of indigenous people who didn't accept that killing was wrong until the christians came along. Theft didn't exist, because everything was community property. Polygamy was a standard practice, it spread the gene pool out.
I checked out your sites, and they don't supply any real hard facts, only superstition and supposition. The science that they do present is nothing more than twisted facts, or unverified under any true scientific method.

Well, not killing/stealing/etc also happens to makes a great deal of sense. Don't think for a second that religious people monopolize the belief that doing bad stuff to other people can lead to bad stuff being done to you. Immanuel Kant would argue otherwise.

Nope but i have found an exception.
In the bible moses tells an army to kill all women and children, to spare only the virgins and keep them for themselves.
God is immoral he is an A$$, he kills those that dont agree with him and do what he says. Also sends people to hell for not believing in something that we cant see and have no proof of. Teaches that sex is horrible yet it shouhld be saved for the one person we love.

No I don't think it's coincidence, I think it's evolution.
(almost?) all social animals exhibit ethical codes, which almost always includes not killing members of the same group, and often includes not killing members of the same species. They also tend to share food, take turns keeping watch, etc.
