What is your idea of God? I mean, is he this stern father image? Is He the sun? (A giver of life if there is one). I just don't get a clear image. Please enlighten me. Thank you.

My personal opinion is that god is this one huge unknown that people use to hide all the other unknowns. It's a concept created by humans so as not to feel so alone and/or vulnerable, so as not to feel that their future and the consequences of their actions rest in the hands of other human who are just as imperfect and unpredictable as they are. It is a concept created by those in power to remain in power, or by those who thought a certain set of rules or regulations was needed at a certain time and needed something to give credibility for that (religions).

Personally I don't believe the concept is needed, I believe humans are much better off without it. However, sometimes I consider what would happen to humanity if the concept of god suddenly disappeared....There would be so many suicides, so many things would run out of control, morality would degrade quickly. That's not because religion or the belief in god puts these things in us, but because most humans simply can't handle the disappearance of god yet.....

It is a human weakness that I believe will be resolved and gone as soon as humans become a bit more mature socially and mentally to be able to handle it.

What is God? Ok
God Is Energy
Energy can not be created or destroyed it just is.

God is a Father figure (somewhat like a workaholic Father who loves his children but gone a lot, you can leave a message [prayer])

God is unchanging from day one he has not changed his mind once!

God is a God of the LAW, very much black and white, Stern but Fair. But break the LAW and your done! He will still not leave you but you will not stand before him when you die.

God when he started he had a plan and he has not veered from the over all plan and each are or can be a part of that plan, some will be removed.

God has chosen for himself a form not unlike our form, that is 2 arms 2 legs body and head. The head has facial feachers. 2 eyes 2 ears nose mouth chin hair. He is not flesh but Energy.

God at the beginning wanted one that would see and understand everything he would do and create, one that would be his word and witness of everything, "Christ"

The lists would just keep going so I'll stop!

God is the father and is the way the truth and the light. God will never leave your side in times of happiness or grief. Even though you don't visibly see him he never leaves your side. He knows your every move your every breath your every good and bad sides. God is the answer for the world today. Without him, we would be nothing, and no matter how bad things may seem to get you can always depend on God. God is the Savior who sent his son Jesus to die on the cross to save us from our sins. He is definitely the answer to life and no matter what God continues to have unconditional love for each and every one of us. Not favoring any but loving us all the same.

If you have read the bible you will notice that the idea of God has changed down through the ages of man . form a thunderbolt throwing Angry God to a forgiving Father.
God is also called , The Self Made One , The Creator Of All Things ( quite literally) Including good and evil. It threw off sparks of its self that became the souls of ALL that was and will be.before creating the physical universe.

First, God Is....meaning there is a real God...in the Universe, in the World, in You...
God is Spirit...Love...Peace...Joy...Forgiveness...Mercy...Grace...

Second, How do I know?...When I was a grade school child, something (thunder storm-lightening) scared me very badly...I think it hit something close by...maybe even the stove which had balls of fire shooting out from behind it. Anyway, without realizing what I was doing or even knowing that I was doing it, I was running from one end of the house to the other screaming at the top of my lungs. When I finally became aware of what I was doing, I thought I was going to die...so having been taught that God is real, I starting praying "God, please don't let me die. I don't want to die"...A white light appeared at the top of the corner of the room & said "You're going to be all right, Nala." I simply stood there & watched until the white light disappeared...then just as calm as I could be, I walked to where my aunt was & watched the balls of fire shooting out from the stove. I was transformed from utter panic to absolute peace & calm. That is who God is to me.

Third, God is not a myth, folktale or any such thing. He is a very loving Spirit...One that I will always obey when He speaks... Why?...Because He has saved my life on more than one occassion & I know without a doubt because it was that Gentle, Loving Voice that interceded.

I hope you come to know Him as I do...Much Love, Nala

He's a seriously holy being. No hanky panky sin tolerated in any shape or form. He's a judge past, present, and future. He's full of love and desperately wants to forgive and spare people from torment. He wants all to come and receive Him. He's a happy sort that has a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh at funny things that happens on His earth and creation. He weeps with reports of all the sick sin, misery, and suffering that goes on.
He's getting ready to call it a day.

A Higher Power that is not human. A Creator that is not human. If God is human then we are all doomed.
The power that created all this and us humans had to be the neatest thing ever.
I think the Creator has gone on to finish the other universes and galaxies and I believe It will not be home for dinner cause the job is really big.
It's late and I have got to get to bed, these answers are getting really far out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God has different parts to Him, like we do. He has feelings, including anger and jealousy.
There is the Father part, which is stern, authoritative, lays down the law, Justice, Judge....
There is the Holy Spirit ("Motherly") it is comforter, counselor, guide, conscience....
There is the Son, who has parts of mother and father in Him. He balances them. He embodies Love, forgiveness, etc...
Add these all up and you get GOD.

Physically, I only have the Bible to go on what He looks like--usually described as "fire" flames, or bright light.

Perhaps you need to rephrase your question. God isn't an idea, God is love and judges life on its ability to show love as his Son did. Interestingly since isolationism is a holdover teaching from our pre-intervention days a lot of people bulk at including animals and plants into this blessing or condemnation treatment. However, as his Son warns even those who would do miracles in his name, If I don't know you, your toast! So since plants and animals aren't stressing God must know them. Trees make shade, flowers make colors, Pets make companionship and humanity creates conflicts? I think we really need to work on our task, don't you?

i don't have a clear image either...the way i see it, he's all around us. i don't like it when people try to 'draw' him out- as a woman since men can't control everything, as a spirit, or even as an old beared, barefoot guy, outside of cartoons like the far side. there is no figure, no image, though glimpses might be seen in nature or in moments of time. trying to find g-d is part of the mystery of life.
