i know my friends have kinky twist alot and they dip them in hot water and then cold to hold it in place but they also use beez wax after they cut the messed up ends

You can use a styling product that is like a bee's wax that will stay in a while and keep the hair soft. Ask your stylist or a beauty supply what they recomend. Sorry i don't have any brand names for you.
