Some people are really stupid thinking like that. Black cats are just as beautiful and wonderful as any other color cat. Believing that omens can bring you good or bad luck is plain crazy, because when you think about it, you're the only one who's in control of your life....you're the master of the vessel! No black cat can bring about bad luck just the same way that rubbing Buddha's belly won't bring anybody's money either!

Even though seeing a black cat crossing one's path started out as a sign of good luck in Europe, a black cat is also often associated with witches. Because of this association, which is considered "unholy" and pagan by the church, therefore, the black cat's reputation has changed and became a sign of bad luck instead.

Isn't that the biggest crock you ever heard of?
What is the dif between a white cat, black cat, or ANY cat?? NOTHING! This myth was born of idiots with no knowledge (dating back to England before USA) and rebelling against Christianity. What do you think God thinks of black cats? What about black people? What if you were God? How would you feel about YOUR creation? Just know this, that if your cat is black, keep him safe from ignorant people, especially on Halloween. I saw a black cat's head, severed very neatly, and sitting on the sidewalk in front of a church when I first moved here. That is one of the sickest things you will NEVER want to see and you would never forget it.
'MEOW' doesn't mean Christians (which means followers of Jesus Christ, he means the Church - of England - NOT followers of Christ, but heretics, so don't confuse the two).

people are strange in their beliefs.... I have a black cat, and she is VERY mean.... im not sure why people think they are bad luck... Must have come from the time when people believed in witches and stuff like that...... I mean every halloween picture you see just about, has a black cat with a witch stirring in a big pot.....LOL i really do not know, that is my best guess.....

In ancient Egypt, the Goddess Bast was a black, female cat. Christians, wanting to rid society of all traces of other religions, convinced the ignorant that black cats were demons in disguise and should thus be destroyed. In the process, they also destroyed the kindly ladies who cared for the cats, believing them to be witches. Being demons, a black cat crossing your path would create a barrier of evil, cutting you off from God and blocking the entrance to heaven.

In ancient times, black cats were considered particularly sacred to several gods. When the Christians took over, they decided that cats were servants of the devil, and black cats more powerful ones. Because of this, thousands - perhaps millions - of cats were horribly killed in the Inquisition, which is why you rarely find a pure black cat today.

I've had three black cats in my life, all three have been extremely smart. Smarter than all my other cats, and I've ownd dozens of cats. They are beautiful, not evil in the slightest....and now that i think about it, all three were females and they never had kittens. My last black cat was hit by a car about 2 weeks ago, I was very saddened. She was very loving. Its all superstition.
