Puggles puppies are just health problems waiting to happen. The only group of people who loves puggles are vets - because that's where they end up. I don't know what genius thought that taking low-quality breeding stock, doing no genetic testing and mixing it with low-quality non-tested stock of a different breed would be a good idea. Especially when both of those breeds are predisposed to a litany of health problems.

they're cute but just so that you know, they are a mutt not a new breed of dog they are a pug mixed w a beagle.....kind of like cockapoos, peekapoos, labradoodles, and all the rest of the designer dogs......cute thought they may be one should FOR SURE NOT again say NOT pay big money for them, they are a mutt bottom line & I have nothing against mutts they can be GREAT dogs but a Puggle is what it is, a mixed breed, no papers, no guarantee on how it will look or act, just be carefull if your thinkin of gettin one.....Im not trying to be a jerk but 1000's of dogs die in shelters while people shell out BIG money for a mutt, when they could have went to the shelter & saved the life of exactly the same thing!!!

I think they are cute also, but at present I got the best looking dog in the world :)

I read this about them:
Puggles tend to be about 20-30 pounds, and 13-15 inches at the withers. While colors vary, and there are completely black as well as multicolored Puggles, the vast majority are fawn colored with wrinkled black masks (similar to Pugs), but with the longer body, slightly increased size, and longer nose and floppy ears associated with Beagles. Because Puggles are a crossbreed, the appearance of the breed is less predictable than that of a purebred dog, since there is a decreased ability to predict which attributes will be inherited from which parent.

Because of longer legs, more room in the skull for the eyes, and less effusive wrinkles, Puggles in general avoid many difficulties with eyes, joints, and skin wrinkles common to Pugs; however, they may have more problems than typical Beagles. While Pugs are particularly susceptible to heat stroke, the longer nasal cavity of the Puggle makes the breed more tolerant to the heat, and less likely to overheat while running in the summer. Conversely, their nasal cavities are likely to be shorter and less efficient than those of Beagles, which could be a problem if the dog also inherited the Beagle's propensity to run, especially for long periods.

A common eye infection is cherry eye, from the Beagle side of the family.

i have had many dogs in my life from labs to yorkies, about 2 years ago i saw the puggle and fell in love, payton, my puggle is great. She is a house dog, when full grown is still small enough to sit on your lap, but large enough to let outside and be on her own. She resembles the beagle more than the pug and so far has had no medical conditions to speak of except for the ears, she has the ear problems of a floppy eared bread.

Overall They are very good dogs, that will howl and hunt like a beagle, but love to sit around and be lazy like the pug. They love to play, and are very friendly, but when they get howling they can really sound like a big dog which i like when my wifes alone it provides her a little protection as long as a person does not see the dog, ha ha.

I think they are the perfect dog with there size. I don't know if i got the best one of the group or not, but from day one, the dog was very easy to train, inculding now i can let her out and not watch her, and she goes about 8 hours in the house with no attention needed while we are at work. Overall if you are looking for a small dog, that is big enought that you won't roll over on it, or one that is not a yapper, that is friendly and loves to play and fetch, the puggle might be a good choice for you.

They are MUTTS. They are not a new "breed". Just mixing two dogs together and labeling them some cutsie name does not create a breed. Millions of dogs are dieing in shelters across the country and people are paying outrageous prices for mutts. It's SICK.
