My boyfriend is a Roman Catholic Priest, how can I convince him to quit the priesthood so we can get married?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 20 years, but we've had to keep it secret because he's a priest. I want to marry him, but he's scared of "coming out" because he'll have to quit the priesthood. I'm thinking of giving him an ultimatum, either he comes out by my thirtieth birthday (next year) or I leave him. What is a good passage from the Bible that I can give him to help him realize that God just wants us to be happy and in love forever?

Because married Popes caused alot of scandals back in the early centuries so one of them banned marriage for anyone in the Catholic church and they don't like to buck tradition in the church, it's one reason why there is so many sexual scandals in the priesthood now, because they haven't figured out a way to help those who start having problems about their sexual urges after becoming priests, same reason that Nuns are considered Brides of God and wear a gold band showing that they are married to the church, they have their share of problems too, only it rarely gets into the papers because most of them leave the church when they feel they can't withstand the urges and it causes them to question their beliefs and faith to the point they leave. Plus most males that they seduce don't come out later and say they were molested by a Nun when they were younger. There has been talk about letting priests and nun's getting married, but so far it's not getting any where inside the church but old traditions are hard to buck from inside the church or outside of it for that matter. But I'm willing to bet it will happen sometime in the future, they can't keep making those big settlements, not even the Catholic church is that rich.

Are you kidding me? First of all this should have come out earlier. 2nd ask him if he realizes it is a sin to do as he is doing. I don't pretend to be informed about Roman Catholic religion but I assume theres somethin about an oath of celibacy to be a priest and thus your problem with marriage right? I cannot give you a specific passage from the bible that you could show him that he could not interpret in another way. If he was willing to look at the works of the Latter Day Prophets I could show him plenty of scripture and revelations concerning family being of utmost importance.

If you've been together for twenty years, and you want to give him an ultimatum on your (30th) birthday, by my calculation and computation and deliberation, you were ten years old when you first started becoming intimate with this priest. You should report him to the authorities.

Show him 1 timothy 1:10 that talks about how homosexuals contradict right teaching, then tell him that he will never amount to anything as a priest while he lives a homosexual lifestyle.
THEN LEAVE HIM........even though Roman Catholocism has been corrupted through the years, it is a far better path than to be a sexual deviant the rest of his life.
